5th annual Run for Hope 5k is September 14th!!! It is a walk or run event to benefit the Dream Center.

Im going to walk/run in it this year. Please join me!

All proceeds stay here in CSRA community, helping those who are hurting, children, women, famlies, homeless, seniors, veterans and more!

Over the last 12 months, the Dream Center has helped just over 29,000 individuals, which is up 30% over last year. Now more than ever, due to inflation, families are in need.
The Dream Center's programs provide immediate relief for these families. Your support, no matter how big or small, will make a significant difference in the lives of so many.

Weekly, the Dream Center offers food programs that address hunger needs, has a free clothing boutique for people in need, and they offer showers and laundry services for our homeless population. Additionally, the Dream Center provides counseling services, healthcare resources, and adult literacy courses.

NOTICE OF PROPERTY TAX INCREASE

(AUGUSTA, GEORGIA) — The Richmond County Board of Education (RCBOE) announces its intention to increase the 2024 property taxes it will levy this year by 13.84 percent over the rollback millage rate.

Each year, the board of tax assessors is required to review the assessed value for property tax purposes of taxable property in the county. When the trend of prices on properties that have recently sold in the county indicate there has been an increase in the fair market value of any specific property, the board of tax assessors is required by law to re-determine the value of such property and adjust the assessment. This is called a reassessment.

When the total digest of taxable property is prepared, Georgia law requires a rollback millage rate must be computed that will produce the same total revenue on the current year’s digest that last year’s millage rate would have produced had no reassessments occurred.

The budget adopted by the Richmond County Board of Education requires a millage rate higher than the rollback millage rate; therefore, before the Board sets a final millage rate, Georgia law requires three public hearings to be held to allow the public an opportunity to express their opinions on the increase.

All concerned citizens are invited to the public hearings on this tax increase to be held at the Richmond County School System central office at 864 Broad Street, Augusta, GA, on the following dates:


First Public Hearing on the Fiscal Year 2025 (FY25) Millage Rate: Tuesday, August 20, starting at 12 p.m.

·Second Public Hearing on the FY25 Millage Rate: Tuesday, August 20, immediately following the 6 p.m. August Regular Board Meeting.

·Third Public Hearing on the FY25 Millage Rate: Tuesday, August 27, starting at 5:30 p.m.
