When Joanie Silfen moved to Maine in 2012 a dream began developing. In 2019 when her mother Barbara "Babs" Marienhoff was diagnosed with breast cancer the time was now! A lifetime of music, laughter, praise and a love of cooking for others set the mood for what 2021 would bring. While Sheila and Charles Foley were in the military, they forged for their country. Once they retired to their family farm in Poland, Maine, they began producing salsa, meat they'd raised, and baked goods from their porch. Recognizing the need for a place to gather, trade goods, and stories alike was vastly missing from the town they loved so much. Poland Provisions was born as a community-based cafe, bakery, and general store that caters to all ages and personalities.
