This week, I was reminded of a really fun interview I did on “The Horse's Mouth” with Tom McManus (BUZZ Media). His talk show features business professionals from across Northeast Florida, and I was honored to be invited to join the show last year.
During the interview, we discussed how I entered the aviation field despite receiving a degree in art from Colorado State University. Then, I share how and why I transitioned from aviation to voice-over acting and narration.
From what started with a national Tylenol commercial to a few regional sports spots, I am grateful to have been able to use my low-pitched “Captain’s Voice” to gain more and more opportunities across the industry.

It’s almost Valentine's Day! Who’s in the mood for a good romance novel? 🥰
Here’s one I helped narrate: “Gulf Coast Wedding,” Book 7 of the Blackbird Beach series by Maggie Miller, shares the story of Georgia Carpenter as she gets a second chance at life, love, and happiness.
There’s a wedding on the horizon, and she couldn’t be happier. But that doesn’t mean Georgia’s lost sight of everything that still needs to be done to get the Sea Glass Inn ready for opening…
In the audiobook version, I narrate the voice of Lilly, Georgia’s estranged sister from New York, who first appears in Book 3 and continues through the series. This whole series was a lot of fun to work on and included an excellent ensemble cast!

If you live in or around Jacksonville, Florida, you may have heard one of my commercial narrations for the Fleet Landing WELLInspired Senior Living Community on TV recently - and there’s quite an interesting backstory…
The opportunity was granted to me by the ad agency, Five19 Creative, located in Virginia. At the time, I was out of the country for The International Society of Women Airline Pilots Conference in Dublin, Ireland. This meant I had to record the spot at a studio they had set up for me there.
So, I recorded the spot in Dublin… for an agency based in Virginia… for a retirement community located just down the street from where I live in Florida! Isn’t that ironic?
