Urban Lady Prepper

Urban Lady Prepper Practical Preparedness for Single Moms/Solo Women. The future is uncertain; let’s be prepared for it! My name is Lynn Jordan.

A lady prepper in a big city who helps single moms and solo women be emergency-ready through my blog and podcast. My goal is to help Single Moms and Solo Females (SMSFs) navigate the world of emergency preparedness (prepping). I am a single (widowed) lady from New York. I have lived in apartments and two houses smaller than one, so I understand having to make prep life work with limited space. I w

ant to share what I've learned and how I practice what I preach. My blog will be the basis for any video clips, and it will contain any additional pictures and links to the sources of my information. It will also serve as the springboard and base script for my podcasts. I am also a writer of non-prepper related anecdotes about my life and fiction on Vocal.

Did you make a New Year’s resolution? Research has shown that the second Friday in January is called “Quitter’s Day,” because many people have abandoned those resolutions by then. So, let’s have resolve instead of a resolution. Listen to this episode to learn the difference and make real changes that will last longer than one year.

The article I referenced is “Ask an Expert — Don't Let 'Quitter's Day' Overtake Your New Year's Goals” by Professor Emma Parkhurst.

It’s another thing entirely to see everything you've ever prepared for staring you in the face. Have you been getting ready over the last few months? I sure hope so. Let’s take a moment to check with each other.

What are the top things you need to get or do by February 2025 to avoid the price increases? You may not be fully aware of what is coming, so take a listen and find out!

My last two podcasts focused on preparing for the upcoming year and I followed up with a reel listing items you needed to get or do before February 2025. This episode will combine these to help you get ahead of next year's economic challenges.

Again, I recommend getting a Jase Case so you can have important antibiotics and other medications available in an emergency. Use this link: http://jasemedical.com/?rstr=21271 to get yours!

Preppers, what would you like Santa to put under your Christmas tree this year? Whether you're a Prepper or know one, this episode has some excellent ideas. From small to large items to classes and outdoor adventures, I’m giving you a solid guide for making you - or your favorite prepper - happy.

A great and practical gift would be a Jase Case. Jase provides medically approved medicines, such as antibiotics, that you can have on hand in emergencies. You can build your own Jase Case or get one of their prepared cases. Click my link at http://jasemedical.com/?rstr=21271 to check them out and be protected against shortages and inclement weather that could keep you from getting the medicines you and your family need!

This is not the time to stick your head in the sand, as every aspect of our lives will be impacted. No one will be immune; some folks are in for a rude awakening. Don't let it be you!

Save $25 on a Jase Case, ensuring you have emergency medication to keep you from dashing through the snow or being unable to get it. Use my link jasemedical.com/?rstr=21271. Thanks!

Been going through it lately, but I came across an old email my Uncle sent me back in 2015. Every now and then, I open it to remind me to always be grateful; I want to share it with y'all :)

1. Life isn't fair, but it's still good.

2. When in doubt, just take the next small step.

3. Life is too short – enjoy it.

4. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends and family will.

5. Pay off your credit cards every month.

6. You don't have to win every argument. Stay true to yourself.

7. Cry with someone. It's more healing than crying alone.

8. Save for retirement starting with your first paycheck.

9. When it comes to chocolate, resistance is futile.

10. Make peace with your past so it won't screw up the present.

11. It's OK to let your children see you cry.

12. Don't compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is all about.

13. If a relationship has to be a secret, you shouldn't be in it.

14. Everything can change in the blink of an eye, but don't worry, God never blinks.

15. Take a deep breath. It calms the mind.

16. Get rid of anything that isn't useful. Clutter weighs you down in many ways.

17. Whatever doesn't kill you really does make you stronger.

18. It's never too late to be happy. But it’s all up to you and no one else.

19. When it comes to going after what you love in life, don't take no for an answer.

20. Burn the candles, use the nice sheets, wear the fancy lingerie.
Don't save it for a special occasion. Today is special.

21. Over prepare, then go with the flow.

22. Be eccentric now. Don't wait for old age to wear purple.

23. The most important s*x organ is the brain.

24. No one is in charge of your happiness but you.

25. Frame every so-called disaster with these words 'In five years, will this matter?'

26. Always choose life.

27. Forgive.

28. What other people think of you is none of your business.

29. Time heals almost everything. Give time time.

30. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.

31. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.

32. Believe in miracles.

33. Don't audit life. Show up and make the most of it now.

34. Growing old beats the alternative of dying young.

35. Your children get only one childhood.

36. All that truly matters in the end is that you loved.

37. Get outside every day. Miracles are waiting everywhere.

38. If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else's, we'd grab ours back.

39. Envy is a waste of time. Accept what you already have, not what you need

40. The best is yet to come...

41. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.

42. Yield.

43. Life isn't tied with a bow, but it's still a gift.

Angry men now believe they have the green light to badger, harass, and attack women more than they already do.

Some men and boys feel they are closer to total control of women and should be able to do as they please, making abhorrent threats. Whether you think this blatant display of misogyny is a temporary thing, never forget that a woman in the U.S. is physically attacked every NINE SECONDS.

Whether it gets worse or remains the same, the bottom line is that we need to protect ourselves, each other, and be more vigilant than ever. Situational awareness and considering a form of self-defense - especially if you have kids - is essential. Take a listen for ideas, information and tips!

11/04/2024

I took an unintended week off for a family situation that led to the decision to talk about Election 2024. We're all exhausted. We're all anxious. And no matter who wins, it will be ugly. I believe there will be violence and perhaps (hopefully not) a repeat of January 6th. I provide some tips on staying safe while voting, after Election Day, and throughout the next three months, with a focus on our delivery folks who may be targeted while doing their jobs. I will get political for the first (and last) time, with some talk for the undecided. I wouldn't make this break from my usual "no politics stance" if I didn't feel it was that important. It is.

Apologies for the absence; I'll be uploading on my regular schedule and increasing the amount of content over the coming months. Do follow me on the socials, and check out my articles and sign up for my newsletter through my website, www.urbanladyprepper.com.

Thanks for listening!
