The JJA (Jazz Journalist Association) honors a local "Jazz Hero" each year in cities across America.

Join fellow jazz journalists, musicians, educators, enthusiast and fans as we celebrate our local "Jazz Hero" in Atlanta. One of more than a dozen satellite parties taking place throughout the U.S., and the world. The Atlanta Jazz Awards celebrate Atlanta's thriving jazz scene and the players, journalists, and fans who keep it strong. Each year we nominate & celebrate a Local Jazz Hero for their outstanding contributions to the Atlanta Jazz community.
