Folks, now LESS than 2 months away, the 2024 Georgia Country Awards VOTING will start. Any singer and band based in Georgia that does country , calls themselves a country act, that is active, will be nominated, if the GCA is aware of them. If you know of a singer or band that we might not be aware of that fit this criteria, drop us a note so they will be nominated. The FIRST round is the Nomination Round,,,Voting will start on Monday, June 3rd at Noon,, and for the first 3 weeks, we can ADD any act that isnt on the ballot. After 3 weeks, the ballot is then locked. There is 3 rounds of voting. The top 12 in each category will move on to the 2nd round, then they top 6 will move to the finals. Also, there is categories of country bar, country dance venue, small venue, large venue and radio station. The venue categories are any venue that regularly has country music. ALSO, we always are looking for the top TEEN talent in the state. If you know of a teen act that does country, from the ages of 13 to 17,, not turning 18 before Sept, they can be nominated as well. I just found out about this. But The Crazy Bull in Macon CLOSED back in late October. The Crazy Bull will go down as part of the Georgia Country Awards History as it hosted more awards show than any other venue. Also, it won multiple awards as Country Bar of the Year and Dance Venue of the Year. Many of Georgia's best local talent played on its stage. It will be missed.

I wanted to take the time to thank all that made the 2023 Georgia Country Awards a success. First, the acts. Without YOU, the singers and the bands, there is no awards show. Every year, you all continue to show how much TALENT we have here in Georgia. As much as anywhere and just as talented as anyone in Nashville. You all work hard every year to give the public great entertainment and keep country music alive. 2nd Thanks to Southern Roots Tavern for being the PERFECT host for the show. Matt and his staff were SOOO accommodating all night long. Jesus, the sound guy doing a great job with all the acts and stage prep. We LOVE the venue and look forward to returning next year and many years to come. And last, my girl, Angie, she put up with me during the hectic day getting ready and was by my side the whole day and evening. So, great job all, we have ideas to continue to make the show even better. Next year being on a Saturday night, it will be TWICE as big. So, get ready, it always rolls around fast.
