A proud Albany State University graduate (Class of ’99), Brooks has dedicated over two decades to the biotech and pharmaceutical industry, ensuring underserved communities have access to the healthcare they deserve. As a Field Reimbursement Account Manager and a Health Equity Champion, she is a leader in Market Access, Patient Advocacy, and Reimbursement Expertise, using her platform to drive meaningful change.

Her commitment to advocacy extends beyond her career—Sharmekia is a certified Legislative Advocate with Patients Rising, fighting for equitable access to life-saving treatments. Her excellence in the industry has earned her the 2024 Pinnacle Award, ranking in the Top 3 in her region.

Sharmekia’s dedication to service and sisterhood shines through her involvement in Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Women of Color in Pharma (WOCIP), Young Black Pharma, and the Black Directors Exchange. She also serves as Membership & Social Events Chair for the ASU National Alumni Association DeKalb (Big DeKalb) Chapter.

Her heart for the community is evident in her leadership as Vice President of We Are One Albany, a nonprofit providing meals and resources to the homeless and underserved in her hometown.

Above all, Sharmekia’s most cherished role is being the proud mother of her daughter, Ryann, who is the absolute love of her life.

As the founder of La Forme Clothing & Accessories, she brought the beauty of bold African textiles to the forefront, ensuring inclusivity for all body types.

Her influence doesn’t stop at fashion—Kimberly is the creator of CURVchella, a body-positive retreat and shopping expo that celebrates curves, community, and commerce. Her commitment to uplifting minority-owned businesses even earned her an official CURVchella Day proclamation from the city of Houston!

Kimberly’s journey is one of resilience and purpose. A Stage IV Breast Cancer survivor, she turned her fight into a platform for breast health advocacy and post-mastectomy styling, inspiring countless women along the way. Now, through CURVchella Cares, she’s giving back by supporting women transitioning from homelessness—an experience she overcame herself.
