When we started planning this Westside Future Fund Summit two plus weeks ago, we wanted to focus on making sure people on the westside of our city were getting the help and resources they may need during this pandemic. It’s what we’ve been doing for months. We wanted to focus on testing, but now we want to have an open and honest conversation. Meet Striker! He’s in need of a good home! A local man lost his best friend to suicide, and he ended up in a dark place too until he met Striker. Striker is unable to eat like regular dogs and actually has to eat in a sitting up position like us humans. The Dekalb shelter put out a call for a way to help Striker, and this man answered and built him a special chair that allows Striker to eat. Check it out. It’s a doggy high chair!
