Meet Erica, our newest Project Manager and seasoned French Hornist. 📯

Raised on the lively shores of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Erica's affinity for music developed early on. Together with her sister, she found joy in crafting costumes for their performances, drawing inspiration from their shared love for drama, music and movies.

As a devoted member of the band, Erica discovered not only a passion but also a sense of purpose. Her dedication to excellence led her to pursue a major in French horn performance, while her time in the ensemble honed her leadership and organizational skills.

In addition to her musical pursuits, Erica held aspirations of motherhood and family life, which guided her decisions as she moved forward. Relocating to Nashville with her husband, Curtis, she was motivated by a strong work ethic and a desire to make meaningful contributions. Through various roles in retail management and customer experience, Erica showcased her diligence, creativity and commitment to service.

Her journey reached a milestone when she played a key role in launching an internal project management platform for her non-profit/church organization. Throughout her career, Erica found fulfillment in facilitating connections within organizations and fostering collaboration.

At Lyda, Erica has found purpose by blending her creativity with a natural inclination to support and nurture others. Beyond her professional endeavors, she finds joy in life's simple pleasures. Her travels have taken her to diverse destinations, from the serene landscapes of Australia to the bustling streets of India, Guatemala and Haiti.

In her quieter moments, Erica takes solace in sewing garments for her family and binging the newest television show. Now, as a new family, she and Curtis treasure the time spent with their son, Marshall, as they embark on adventures together, exploring the world with wonder and delight.

Meet Brendon, our Creative Director of Virtual & 3D and a hobbyist children’s book writer. ✍️

Brendon grew up in North Carolina, where he was raised in a musically gifted family. While he occasionally picks up his guitar and sings, Brendon uniquely pursued the visual arts. From a young age, his parents could easily find his drawings on any available piece of paper. In addition to creating a popular cartoon series for the bulletin board at his dad’s work, Brendon once won the Upper Deck "draw-your-own baseball card" competition.

A pivotal moment occurred during Brendon's high school years when a classmate shared a DIY video project and Brendon became enamored with the concept of digital filmmaking. He soon found himself in the film program at the University of North Carolina Wilmington, where he honed his skills in computer graphics and crafted memorable short films.

Post-graduation, Brendon gained invaluable experience as a Motion Graphics Designer in Wilmington, NC. However, his true aspiration was in the realm of movie-making. Following his wife Carolyn to Atlanta, he discovered an abundance of opportunities in the promising film industry of The Big Peach City. Here, he flourished as a Visual Effects Artist, contributing his talents to popular TV shows such as The Walking Dead, Grey’s Anatomy and The Resident.

In 2023, Brendon joined Lyda to focus on the cutting-edge field of Virtual Production. Apart from creating immersive stories and extraordinary worlds, Brendon channels his creativity into writing and illustrating picture books. Additionally, he enjoys outdoor adventures with his wife and two kids.

Introducing our new animated short, The Big Leap. Since 2021, we’ve invested heavily in building a Virtual Production team to create realistic, story-rich experiences in the virtual realm. We develop characters and environments meticulously tailored to our client’s unique vision using groundbreaking tools like Unreal Engine and state-of-the-art performance capture. This isn’t just an upgrade for Lyda — it’s a new way for our clients to captivate and connect with audiences.
