Ben Etter has been a fixture at Maze over the last decade. Engineering, production and mixing credits include both well-established artists such as Deerhunter, Cate Le Bon, Hazel English or Washed Out as well as independent artists from Atlanta and around the world. Originally from the Swiss mountains, he migrated to Atlanta, GA to focus completely on making records after spending years as an international recording and touring artist himself. Ben cares about meaningful songs and performances more than anything else and is always all-in on the right project, no matter the size or budget.

Atlanta based LGBTQ musician and Audio Engineer, Sophia Trautman is a recent graduate from the Music Production and Keyboard performance programs at the Atlanta Institute of Music and Media. Before her graduation, she achieved becoming a regular engineer at venues like The Eastern, Terminal West, the Masquerade and Star Bar in Atlanta. Her prowess has allowed her to become a skillful engineer and collaborator in the studio as well. This has led her to engineer at Maze for artists such as The Strumbellas, Wiley From Atlanta, Josiah Soren, and many more.
When working with clients, Sophia approaches every song, show, and moment with a curious and passionate mission to find the truth, message, and emotional conviction of their art and help them convey that with purpose.

Kegan Krogh has been making records for the better half of two decades. Whether that's engineering Maze Studios , tracking guitars and bass at his home studio, or recording your next favorite band in their basement. He found his way to Maze in 2017 and in that time has worked with such bands as Bad Suns, Cut Copy, Childhood, Wild Moccasins, and more. When he’s not recording you can find him touring North America with his band, worlds greatest dad, playing guitars, synth, and lap steel.

This week's .studios.atl profile focus is on Tomás Uribe. Tomás is available for all kinds of sessions here at the studio. He's got a great attitude, a chill vibe and very musical ears. Check out our "People" page at the link in bio to learn more.

Colombian American Engineer/Producer and multi-instrumentalist Tomás Uribe has been a staple of the Atlanta and Athens music scene over the past decade. With talents such as songwriting, mixing and production, he’s worked on many records over the years in genres from hip hop to psych rock to jazz. Tomás has had credits with artists such as Flamingods, Magic Giant, Childhood, Kevin Day and many more local Atlanta and worldwide artists. While being a studio engineer, Tomás has had success as a Front of House and Monitor engineer for many venues across Atlanta such as the Masquerade and 529, engineering for artists like The N**e Party, Weekend Lovers, Nita Strauss, Sid, Noga Erez and many more.

Another successful Skills Clinic here at .studios.atl this Friday. We’ve been doing these every few months with a small crew of engineers and producers. The goal is to get everyone more familiar with the gear, the routing, and signal flow of the room. More importantly, the point is to just hang out with people who are making records for a living and trying to get better at it. This week’s focus: the patchbay.

spent the day with over here at Maze tuning the control room. Sounds pretty amaze balls now. LOTS of moving stuff around all over the place to find the sweet spot for our NS10’s. Sounds great now. I’d you’re wondering what we would listen to in order to check out the new setup? Try “Whoo! Alright - Yeah ... Uh Huh” by NYC band , expertly mixed by . It’s one of Ben’s favorite mixes of an indie record ever. Also on tap is “Miki Dora” by , produced and mixed by . Such a beautiful tune, with silky top end and a krautrock backbeat that’s so easy to listen to. Both sound fantastic in the control room!

Well, his friends at are beginning this year’s gravel race series in Blairsville, GA with the Valley of the Giants gravel roll this Saturday! This race includes the most epic N. Y’all is at .studios.atl cutting some drums on a new project with . It’s been WAY too long since Julian’s been on the studio with us. produced In The Dark with and also got Julian to play drums on a song called “Step Right Up” for their album Southern Gothic which came out on Virgin. Julian has played with a lot of great artist both live and in the studio and we’re lucky to have him here!
