Black Forest Roll Cake 🍫🍒

A delicious twist on the classic Black Forest Cake, this roll cake combines chocolate, cherries, and whipped cream for a delightful treat. Perfect for any special occasion or simply as a decadent dessert to enjoy!

Ingredients:
For the Cake:
1/2 cup all-purpose flour 🌾
1/4 cup cocoa powder 🍫

1 tsp vanilla extract 🍦
1/4 cup milk 🥛
1/4 cup vegetable oil 🛢️
For the Filling:
1 cup heavy whipping cream 🥄
1/4 cup powdered sugar 🍬
1 tsp vanilla extract 🍦
1 jar (about 14 oz) cherry pie filling 🍒
For the Topping:
Chocolate shavings or grated chocolate 🍫
Extra cherries for garnish 🍒
Instructions:
1. Make the Cake:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) 🔥.
Grease and line a 15x10-inch jelly roll pan with parchment paper 🧴.
In a bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt 🌾🍫.
In another large bowl, whisk together eggs, sugar, vanilla extract, milk, and vegetable oil 🥚🍬.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until smooth 💪.
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly 🧑‍🍳.
Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean 🕒.

Ingredients

▢¾ cup dutch-processed cocoa powder, spooned and leveled
▢1 ½ cups granulated white sugar
▢1 tablespoon baking powder
▢1 teaspoon salt
▢2 teaspoon espresso powder
▢½ cup canola or vegetable oil
▢2 large eggs
▢½ cup buttermilk
▢1 teaspoon vanilla extract
▢1 cup strong brewed coffee - espresso preferred, hot
frosting
▢2 ¼ cups full-fat mascarpone, cold
▢1 ¼ cups powdered sugar, sifted
▢¼ cup strong brewed coffee - espresso preferred, chilled
▢¼ cup heavy cream, cold
ganache
▢6 oz semi-sweet chocolate bars, finely chopped
▢½ cup heavy cream
▢2 tablespoon light corn syrup

Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F / 175°C. Line the bottom and the sides of two 8" (20cm) baking pans with parchment paper. Set aside.
Cake: In a medium bowl combine flour, cocoa, sugar, baking powder, salt, and espresso powder and stir to combine. Set aside. In a large mixing bowl, using an electric mixer fitted with a whisk or paddle attachment, beat oil, eggs, buttermilk, and vanilla just until combined. Stir in dry ingredients to combine. Slowly mix in hot coffee until combined. The batter will be very thin. Divide the batter into the two prepared baking pans equally. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick in the center comes out clean. Let cool in the pan for about 20 minutes. Then remove from pan and transfer to a cooling rack. Let cool to room temperature.
Frosting: In a large mixing bowl, using an electric mixer fitted with a whisk attachment, beat mascarpone on medium-high speed until creamy, about 1 minute. Sift in powdered sugar and mix until combined and smooth, about 1 minute. Add chilled coffee and mix until incorporated and smooth, about 1 minute. Add heavy cream and mix until creamy, about 1 minute.

Ingredients

For the Cake:

1 and 3/4 cups (220g) all-purpose flour

1 and 1/2 cups (300g) granulated sugar

3/4 cup (75g) unsweetened cocoa powder

2 tsp baking powder

1 and 1/2 tsp baking soda

1 tsp salt

2 large eggs

1 cup (240ml) whole milk

1/2 cup (120ml) vegetable oil

2 tsp vanilla extract

1 cup (240ml) boiling water

For the Ganache:

1 cup (240ml) heavy cream

200g (7 oz) dark chocolate, chopped

For Garnish:

Chocolate curls or shavings (optional)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Cake:

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans or line them with parchment paper.

For the Cake Base:

1/2 cup milk

200g milk chocolate, chopped
600ml heavy cream, divided
2 tsp unflavored gelatin powder
4 tbsp water
For the Chocolate Glaze:

100g dark chocolate, chopped
100ml heavy cream
For Decoration:

Chocolate curls or shavings
Fresh mint leaves
𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀:
Prepare the Cake Base:

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8-inch springform pan.
In a bowl, whisk flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt; set aside.
Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Beat in eggs and vanilla.
Gradually add dry ingredients, alternating with milk. Mix until smooth.
Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 20-25 minutes. Cool completely.
