I PLANNED A SURPRISE PARTY FOR MY HUSBAND, BUT WHEN HE WALKED IN, EVERYONE FELL SILENT

My husband's 40th birthday was coming up, and I decided to throw a surprise party for him. To prepare for it, I told him I would be out of town on his birthday, and we agreed to celebrate on another day. On the evening before the big day, I pretended to pack my bags and leave for the airport when I actually just stayed overnight at my friend's house.

My husband always came home from work around 6 p.m., so I decided to invite all of his friends and family around 5 p.m. so we would have time to decorate. When the time came, we turned off the lights and hid behind the kitchen counter. As the key in the door started turning, I held my breath with excitement. I FELL ASLEEP ON MY HUSBAND'S SHOULDER IN THE PLANE BUT WOKE UP ON THE SHOULDER OF ANOTHER MAN.

For the last 6 months, my husband, Jerry, was constantly busy with his new project. But yesterday, we finally had got to go to Miami for vacation. When he tried to say something about postponing it, I insisted it was impossible since all the tickets and hotel were booked, so we were doing this now.

Moving forward to the plane. As soon as we took off, I fell asleep on Jerry's shoulder. But the next time I opened my eyes, it was a stranger's shoulder I was leaning on, and I was about to yell when he said:

HIM: "Hush. Please, we don't have much time. I saw you and your husband at the airport, and I thought you needed to know. When he returns to you in a few minutes, behave as usual."

My dad divorced my mom, and at 60, it hit her hard. I decided to be there for her and suggested she move in with me. I was convinced she'd be drowning in grief, and I'd be the one wiping her tears and holding her through it all... But I couldn't have been more wrong.

"Sandy, remember I told you about the strange little girl yesterday? Look, she's at that window!" I pointed across the street.
"I remember. Is she looking at you again?" asked my wife.
"Yeah, it's kind of weird."
"Well, maybe she's bored and just waving her arms?"
"It's like she's calling me."
"I can imagine. You'll go up to her and say she called you. What would her parents think?" Sandy replied.

That night, I had terrible dreams of the girl's house and shadows whispering, and I woke up in a cold sweat. Morning came, and I felt exhausted. As I finished my tea, I glanced at the window again.

I fell for Molly the second I saw her. She was gorgeous, but that didn't stop her boyfriend from leaving her when she got pregnant. She cried on my shoulder. I was madly in love, so I asked her to marry me. I just wanted to be there.
Molly hated every second of her pregnancy. I hoped she'd warm up after the baby was born. But when Amelia came into the world, Molly just complained, missing her old life. She barely cared for the kid. But Amelia? She was my whole world, my light.
We lived this weird life for 5 years until one day, Molly dropped the bomb: "I want a divorce! I'm so over you and that little brat! I wish I'd never had her!"

"Ah, finally, sweetie. Mommy got you a new buggy. We'll go home, clean it up, and then you can rest in it, alright?" Mariam smiled as she brought home the stroller she had bought at the flea market for $10, completely unprepared for what she was about to discover.

The mother dusted off the stroller carefully. It was used, but still in decent condition. However, as she inspected it, Mariam heard a strange crackling sound coming from under the padded seat.

"Ugh! You can't be serious! Are you really making her sit here?" Mr. Newman grumbled as he noticed a mother-of-three approaching his seat.
"I'm sorry, sir," the flight attendant replied gently. "These seats have been assigned to Mrs. Debbie Brown and her children, and we can't do anything about it."

I NOTICED THAT MY 5-YEAR-OLD SON STARTED AVOIDING HIS MOM!
Whenever my wife tried to hug him or kiss him in my presence, he turned away and tried to escape from her embrace.
A few days ago, when my wife went to the grocery store, I decided to find out why he started to behave in such a hostile way toward her.
"Sam, why have you been avoiding your mom recently?" I asked.
"Mom has changed. She has a secret and doesn't want to share it with me," he said, his little face clouded with confusion and hurt.
Probing further, I asked, "What do you mean? What secret?
He said, "When you are at work, she often cries in her room. When I walked in there and asked her why she was crying, she screamed at me and told me to go. She also was holding something in her hand."
