We’re pleased to announce that in addition to our December 30th guest lineup of Matt Wolfe, Jaxon Bishop, and Casey Clark, Chris Wiess from Five Star Bodies will join the show as well.

Wiess was the recipient of the 2024 Jeff Sandlin Legacy Award, and he will join Matt Wolfe in discussing the award to open our show.

Hot Laps of Liberty returns for one last time in 2024!

Join us on Monday, December 30th for the special live event, right here on Facebook as well as on our YouTube channel.

Joining us will be a trio of guests, starting with Matthew Wolfe. Wolfe will be discussing the Jeff Sandlin Legacy Award, as well as some stories and insight behind its creation and continuing prevalence in the sport.

Following Wolfe will be 2024 Modifieds of Mayhem Champion, Jaxon Bishop. Bishop will chat with the LRR crew about his championship season this year.

Joining Bishop will be dirt racer and good friend of the show, Casey Clark. Clark will join us to chat about some things he has in the works for the 2025 season.

To cap off the show, as well as 2024 as a whole, the LRR crew will be announcing the 2024 Red Farmer Legacy Award winners.

If you recall, the award was constructed and given to legendary racer Red Farmer approximately a year ago. This year, the award will be presented to three individuals who exemplify a lifetime of commitment and contribution to the world of motorsports.

Be sure to tune in on Monday, December 30th at 8:00 pm EST. You won’t want to miss it!

Grill is Awarded “Hal Goodson” Snowball Derby Award

Years ago media partners of Five Flags Speedway awarded a special award to Hal Goodson who finished the Snowball Derby with half a race car. The key was that he overcame adversity to rise up and end the Snowball Derby weekend on a high note.

Since the invitation of the award it was turned to an overcoming adversity award, but for the entire Snowball Derby weekend. This year our selection came from a regular face who very much could have stayed home this year with health issues.

Augie Grill, the two-time Snowball Derby winner is a race car driver who has battled cancer during the 2024 season. Grill ended up doing triple duty on Saturday at the Snowball Derby. He was a late addition to the FatHead Racing team and he tried to get their car into the Snowball Derby. From there he qualified 5th for the Snowflake before falling out of the race.

His final leg of the tripleheader day resulted in a win in the Outlaw division at Five Flags. The win marked the fourth different division that Grill has won in on Snowball weekend. Overall Grill has nine wins at the Snowball Derby and now he’s a Hal Goodson award winner.
