In this episode, Mike and Holden dive into a wide range of hunting topics, starting with Mike’s recent waterfowl adventure in Canada—his first official hunt of this kind. Mike traveled to Saskatoon, where he had the incredible opportunity to hunt 8 different species of birds. Over the course of just 2 ½ days, his group of three hunters harvested over 120 birds. He shares the details of hunting sandhill cranes, snow geese, speckle-bellied geese, Ross’s geese, lesser and large Canadian geese, mallards, and pintails. Mike also highlights the differences between hunting waterfowl in the U.S. versus Canada, including navigating travel across the border with fi****ms and the process of bringing harvested birds back home.

The conversation then shifts to their recent whitetail hunting experiences in Alabama and Georgia, with a focus on the Georgia rifle opener and the notable cold front that passed through the Southeast. Mike and Holden break down the importance of sitting until late morning during these conditions, as the changing thermals and day winds often cause bucks to adjust their bedding locations.
In the latter part of the episode, they discuss some of the hot topics circulating in the hunting community, including the much-talked-about Alexander Buck—a massive 200-inch whitetail taken in Ohio under illegal circumstances—and the serious consequences that followed the improper harvest of this remarkable deer.
