📱 EPUB – The perfect digital format for eReaders (like Kindle, Nook, and Apple Books), giving your audience easy access to your book worldwide. It’s versatile and affordable for a broad audience.

Now listen, I am definitely a chai latte, crème brûlée latte, and pumpkin spice creamer type of girl during this time of the year. 💪🏾 Start strong. Your opening sentence or paragraph should grab the reader’s attention immediately.

Three Ways to Start Strong:

1. Start with an intense or pivotal moment: Drop the reader into the middle of a life-changing event or conflict.
2. Pose a powerful or thought-provoking question: Hook the reader with curiosity and set the tone for the narrative.
3. Use vivid, sensory-rich descriptions: Paint a picture that evokes emotion and pulls the reader into the scene.

Starting Strong Example:
The slap came out of nowhere, sharp and loud, leaving my cheek burning like it was on fire. “You’ll never be anything in this life,” he whispered, his words cutting deeper than the sting on my face. For a second, I just stood there stunned. But then, something shifted—like a switch flipping inside me. I didn’t cry. I didn’t yell. I just made a quiet promise to myself: this was the last time I’d let anyone make me feel small. From that moment on, I was all in.

Weak Start Example:
I remember when someone told me I’d never be anything. It was a hard moment, but I didn’t know what to do. I thought about it later, and it made me want to try harder. That day was when I decided to start making changes.

Today, I want to focus on the power of including testimonials on your back cover. A good testimonial can change or increase the impact of a business, location, product, or individual.

Consider the apostle Paul in the Bible. When no one trusted him after his conversion, it was Barnabas who spoke up for him (Acts 9:26-27). That testimony gave Paul credibility and opened doors for his ministry to flourish.

The same is true for your book! A strong testimonial builds trust, establishes credibility, and shows readers the impact of your message.

Here’s how to get great testimonials:
✅ Ask Early Readers: Share your manuscript with trusted clients or peers and request their feedback.
✅ Reach Out to Experts: Approach colleagues or mentors who align with your message for endorsements.
✅ Guide Their Responses: Provide prompts like, “What did you find most impactful?” or “Why would you recommend this book?”
