The amount of times I've had people ask if she's sleeping through the night blows my mind. And the fact that her pediatrician has been telling me since her 6 month appointment that I need to night wean her is infuriating.I'm no LC but even I know babies under 1 year should NEVER be night weaned. If your baby is sleeping through the night and is back up to/surpassed birth weight then their is no need to wake them but if your baby still wakes up wanting to nurse overnight that is 1000% biologically normal.Babies take in their largest volume of milk overnight as that's when prolactin levels are highest. And babies use nursing for so much more than food, it can be comfort, connection, temperature regulation, thirst, and so many other things that shushing and rocking just cannot provide.Furthermore night wakings are actually protective, they decrease the risk of s!ds and help to keep baby safe. Not to repeat myself but once again, ✨biologically normal.✨Going beyond night nursing, extended breastfeeding is recommended for both mother and baby by the American Academy of Pediatrics and the WHO, so when you see an older baby nursing, 👏🏼mind👏🏼your👏🏼own👏🏼t!ts👏🏼PS baby girl loved the music to this one😂#extendedbreastfeeding #toddlerlife #mybodymychoice #relatablemotherhood #funnymomsToddler mom // breastfeeding moms // relatable // mom life // millennial humor
lykyk. I needed to keep her in the bathroom for the few minutes it would take for a body shower so I unlocked the bathroom cabinet and let her go to town (don't worry she was still supervised as I could see her the whole time. It doesn't always work but thankfully this night it did because mama needed a shower, even if it was a quick one. Looking forward to when the hubby is better be this mama needs and everything shower bad! What do you do to keep your little ones entertained so you can grab a quick shower?Mom life // toddler mama // relatable mom // millennial moms // mom content
The amount of toys I found at the bottom of her ball pit is mind blowing. My first indication something was amiss was missing toys from the playpen, the next was when I started playing with her and started moving the balls around because she loves the noise and I felt something hard think this is going to need to be a weekly task!#toddleractivities #ballpit #toddlermama #toddlerlife #relatablemom #honestmotherhood #unfilteredmotherhoodToddler // mom life // mother daughter // ball pit // toddler gift ideas
here ⇩Now that it has cooled off enough here in Georgia to walk again we no longer take a stroller on its daily walk!! It has been a long road to get here, and I still bring the carrier because she often still wants to be carried home but we definitely make it a lot further than we ever did in a stroller, that’s for sure. Wagon FTW 😂 To last as long as possible I make sure of these things:•she’s got a fresh diaper•she has her snack cup•she has her water•she has a toy or two•a blanket just in case she gets cold•a hat and sunglasses•shoes in case she wants to walk 😆•and of course the carrier!and bonus, EVERYTHING fits in the wagon and its many pockets. And double bonus, she doesn’t throw things out of it nearly as often as she threw things out of the stroller🤣I have seen so many good wagon options out there but many are pricey and this mama is on a budget! this wagon came recommended by a good friend and is very reasonably priced (bonus!) we absolutely love it! You can find it in my st0r3fr0nt or comment wagon and I’ll send you the l!nk to it! 💕#dailywalk #toddlermom #momlifebelike #relatablemom #toddlerlife #toddlermomlife #15monthsold Toddler mom, relatable, mom life, millennial mom, honest motherhood
I stopped taking my birth control in June of 2020 as I wanted to start letting my body detox after being on the pill for the previous 15 years straight, and I also wanted to see just how my body would be and feel without hormonal manipulation. And let me tell you, the transition off was rough. My hair fell out in clumps, my periods were heavy and painful (the initial reason I went on bc), I had some moodiness but after a while those things began to clear up, my periods became more manageable, my hair started growing back (not fast enough to avoid having to chop it off unfortunately) and all the symptoms and pains I had been having for years while in bc eased and mostly went away. I was amazed at the change and also horrified when I learned about all bc could do to you and what it can mean for your health as the years progress… but anyways, I digress. That’s a whole story for another day. This post is about my baby girl, when I went off bc it was also so we could get pregnant, not actively trying but also not preventing it from happening. I did start tracking my ovulation the summer of 2021 and by November I was pregnant, however I didn’t believe it at first when my period was late because I still didn’t feel fully ready or prepared for this next step, i thought we still had more time. But nope, she was growing in my belly and I am so grateful. It is true what they say, you’re never really ready for children, but you do it anyways and figure it out, because if you wait until you feel ready, you never will. In all honesty, there’s a few things she may have saved me from, but there’s even more she has helped me heal from and grow from. She is the light of my life and even on the hardest days and nights she is the greatest gift I could ever be given. We have babies not when we want them, but when we need them. 🩷#motherhoodjourney #realmotherhood #momlifebestlife #shesavedme #motherdaughterduo #mymotherhood #thegreatestgift #littlebestie #pregnancyjourne
