Shopping at Lenox Square mall yesterday and I came across this cute gourmet grilled cheese shop called & Cheese! Only in Atlanta can you get a grilled cheese sandwich with cornbread, Mac n cheese and collard greens inside 🤤😬 it was delicious!

The vibes are just different. 🥰
Women who lack self love and/or confidence tend to project. This creates unnecessary gossip, secret animosity, monitoring spirits and so on! Women who love themselves, will genuinely love you! They support you, uplift you, and are always encouraging you to bring out your inner baddie!

As big fan of female rap, I think we saw a perfect example of this when Meg & Glo went on tour. We all know Megan the Stallion loves herself LOUDLY. During and after the tour, we witnessed Glorilla’s confidence and s*x appeal shoot through the roof! Empowered women, empower women. Period. 🤞🏾❤️

Driving in to work today I had the pleasure of listening to Issa Rae speak on embracing your unique beauty and path with the Naked Beauty Podcast. In this interview, the host rightfully reminded Issa that her unique beauty on screen allowed many women to feel seen. I was shocked that Issa responded by saying she knew the character was relatable but not necessarily for her looks. From the day I was introduced to Issa & Molly on Insecure, I was hooked from their beauty alone. As someone who has often felt insecure about my appearance, I felt like I was finally seeing myself be represented in a beautiful, normal way. As a fellow dark skinned, long legged, slim figured woman with 4C hair(now a BALDIE), and a BIG SMILE…Issa Rae has become a role model for me, in both Beauty and Business! My therapist got me together real good a few sessions ago. Here I was running to her, feeling like my life was spiraling out of control yet again. She says to me, “Angelina, do you realize that you feel this way around the same time every year?” in that moment, I realized she was right! As soon as it gets a lil chilly outside and gloomy days become more frequent, my life “spirals out of control”😅 With this knowledge and understanding, I accept that it is my responsibility to be proactive! When you know what you know, you do better! I know seasonal depression is SEASONAL, I know what the weather does to my mood…so why wouldn’t I prepare myself? The nerve.

Yes. My peace is my priority. I’ve learned that many people have internal struggles which they allow to bleed out onto others in the most dysfunctional way. You can be kind, loving, and supportive toward these type of people but the war within themselves still allows them to treat you like an enemy. They know you don’t deserve the behavior you receiving from them, so they’ll try their hardest to get you out of character, so that they feel less guilty. All you can do is pray for them. Remove yourself from other people’s patterns of dysfunction 🖤🙏🏾

Whew!! I turned 30 and stopped caring ‼️ At some point I realized I was going above and beyond to make other people happy simply to be accepted by them, to stroke my own ego, or to feel some type of special bond. Being too nice left me empty. I’ll always be kind, my mama raised me to be! And I’m a child of God! BUT there’s a thin line between being kind and being a people pleaser ☝🏾your boundaries separate the two! ity
