#TBT to @officialfatboyslim dropping Love Island at movement this year. Yes, I was that guy wearing a FBS shirt while he played. I’ve been an electronic music fan before I knew how to describe what type of music I liked. And I’ve always felt on the outside/unseen with my musical interests and further compounding that with being a black man who grew up in a supremely white mostly rock and roll environment meant that I never connected with many on music in my youth. But then I discovered the internet and chat rooms, started going to shows, and now I’m connecting with strangers on small moments like these! love Island is a b side on Fatboy’s landmark album and I never thought I’d hear it live. And I bet everyone in the crowd felt the same until they heard that infectious melody! Then it was game on! Anyway! Hope you can join me and @trancedungeon Saturday at @casanuevaathens as we bring the sounds that unite us across race, gender, class, and sexuality. The dance floor heals. It doesn’t judge it only Ioves!
