Many ancient religions have practiced a variety of spiritual ceremonial traditions throughout the ages during time which have heavily influenced the celebrations in contemporary Western Culture of Christmas and New Year's Eve.

Many of the Christian belief are anti-Planned Parenthood, for those, I share this instagram reel that hopefully shed some light on why its important and how one can be a Christian and still support Planned Parenthood: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DBkE-52Se7g/?igsh=MXc4ajBjbmJjaDN5NQ%3D%3D&fbclid=IwY2xjawHSw3RleHRuA2FlbQIxMAABHa6opjbgnNvkM0wW0QREp3nStHGuVgEWVdwNA10y1WSZ2vzz7p_lCtooTA_aem_uVxEQHF8uG3PitRW03-5Ig

With this upcoming Va**na Monologues, I will have participated in five different productions. This is the first that I have ever directed. Each time I participate, my soul grows a little larger, I become more comfortable in my own skin, more aware of my va**na and all its worthiness. The second and third time I was cast in the Va**na Monologues I poured through book after book discussing the value of 'va**na', of women's rights that are at risk even now, how for century upon century women have been pushed down, subjugated, silenced, even in my life time, even today, do I face the challenge of being heard, being respected, being valued.
As Sarah Silverman encourages Conan & Andy here, I challenge all to sing out with pride "Va**na!" In that one word, we all are declaring our own freedom to be heard, seen, valued, for ourselves & for the rights of all.
Don't be silent, be true to yourself, shine forth!

I still am in need of funds for my production, mostly for venue costs & the rights to the script. If you want to help, anyway you can, small or large, or sharing, the gofundme link is here: https://www.gofundme.com/f/pgv92

All those who donate will receive a listing as 'producer credit' in the playbill. Proceeds from the show will benefit Planned Parenthood.

Last weekend, we shot again the short film, The Lackey Rises, starring Russell Mitchell, Annie Fichera, Madeleine Fichera, Izzy Fichera, West Christy, and Michael Meyer. Michael Meyer brought his fabulous art skills designing the lighting which added to the effect of the story. The cast did an excellent job bringing the story to life. It was a great way to commence the holiday season, spent creating art with a beautiful chosen family.

This film is lovingly dedicated to the memory of Talla Mitchell, Catherine Hansen, & David "Glamour Dave" Nienow

The fullness of Planned Parenthood.
In addition to having its funding taken away during the first Trump era, Planned Parenthood is fraught with constant slander & attacks based on limited information & personal bias. Overall, Planned Parenthood is like many a women's clinic around the nation & world, yet being the most famous it gets the most backlash.
In my younger years, early twenties, fresh out of college but without personal health insurance, I utilized the care of Planned Parenthood for women's annual exams & STI testing, as well as other advice on protection, including conversations on consent. As I admit this, I realize I might get attacked again for admitting to being a former patient of Planned Parenthood, not just a staunch advocate, but its important to express the need for such & why I plan on donating a portion of the proceeds from the play to Planned Parenthood, as I feel its the women's clinic with the furthest reach & the most need.

Here is some information about all the services that Planned Parenthood offers:
Planned Parenthood is the nation's leading provider and advocate of high-quality, affordable s*xual and reproductive health care for all people. It is made up of many separate non-profit organizations across the country. Clinics operated by Planned Parenthood provide a range of reproductive health care services, including (but not limited to) abortion, s*x education, prenatal care, infertility services, and treatment for s*xually transmitted diseases, as well as vaccinations and cancer screenings for millions of mostly low-income individuals. Planned Parenthood Federation of America, Inc. (PPFA) works to protect and expand access to s*xual and reproductive health care and education, and provides support to its member affiliates.

To my dear kindred spirit, Karen~
My heart is aching since I heard the news, everywhere I look, I feel a memory of you, cherishing each one, although the tears well up, flooding over. But that is what you were worth.
In recent years, your life was not what you deserved, but I choose to remember you for what you truly were within. You held lots of love in your little body, it pains me to know that the deep love we all had in return for you could not reach you...but regardless you never ceased your love.
You were brilliant, talented, funny, sweet, encouraging. I'll always remember you, fighting back your own tears, standing up for me against a bully, the first friend in years who had done that, and you did it without hesitation, despite your own pain. That meant so much to me, empowering me a few short months later to rid him from my life....your love gave me strength. And afterwards, you stood with me--girls' nights & giggles, sharing old memories & laughing over the silly things the boys we once loved did & said, heart to heart talks, your beautiful deep eyes & bright smile always warm, always encouraging...thank you forever for helping me to 'choose myself first'
Currently, I am in production for a little film that tells our story, finally, not only about the boys we chased after, but more than that, the story of us, our friendship, a story of female friendship & love together forever. This story is for Katy, Doniella, Abigail, but now mostly, for you
May you be in a place where the muffins & coffee are endless, where there are so many many books to read, time to philosophize, all your favorite music playing, of love, laughter, where you sparkle ever more brighter than you ever did. Keep shining, dear friend, forever in my heart.

The History of the Va**na Monologues:
Eve Ensler wrote the first draft of the monologues in 1996 (there have been several revisions since) following interviews she conducted with 200 women about their views on s*x, relationships, and violence against women. The interviews began as casual conversations with her friends, who then brought up anecdotes they themselves had been told by other friends; this began a continuing chain of referrals. In an interview with Women.com, Ensler said that her fascination with va**nas began because of "growing up in a violent society".[6] "Women's empowerment is deeply connected to their s*xuality." She also stated, "I'm obsessed with women being violated and r***d, and with in**st. All of these things are deeply connected to our va**nas."

Ensler wrote the piece to "celebrate the va**na". Ensler states that in 1998, the purpose of the piece changed from a celebration of va**nas and femininity to a movement to stop violence against women. This was the start of the V-Day movement[7] which has continued strong every year since, has turned into a worldwide phenomenon, and a very successful non-profit organization.[7]

The play opened at HERE Arts Center in New York City on October 3, 1996, with a limited run that was scheduled to end November 15 but was extended to December 31.[8][9] The play gained popularity through sold-out performances, media coverage and word of mouth. "In 2001, V-Day sold out New York's Madison Square Garden with more than seventy actors performing. The evening raised $1 million raised for groups working to end violence against women and girls."[10]
