We are working on finding our way forward after Hurricane Helene here in WNC. While the disaster has faded from the headlines, recovery is far from over. Daily life still involves navigating broken roads and debris, and the situation for many is dire.

We are working on a benefit for our community in Nashville, TN on February, 22nd. Highlights include a multi-course dinner led by award winning chef Sean Brock, a performance and conversation with the legendary T Bone Burnett along with a curated group of his friends, a silent auction and more.

100% of net proceeds benefit WNC Tip It Forward, a relief fund providing critical financial support to local artists and food service workers directly impacted by Hurricane Helene.

If you are in Nashville and can show up, please do. If you have capacity to support with silent auction or sponsorship, please reach out.

Please share with your friends. Link in comments to buy tickets.

We haven't had a chance to post about this since *waves arms around* the Helene chaos, but Princess Goes released several tracks performed at Echo Mountain as bonus content on the deluxe version of their LP, "Come of Age" and we highly recommend checking them out. This month, they also released a visualizer for "Floating" and announced on Giving Tuesday that all proceeds from "Floating" would be donated to BeLoved Asheville.

In September 2024, the band shared the deluxe version of Come of Age featuring five alternative versions of songs from the album recorded during the Echo Mountain Sessions. Now their new single, "Floating," will help WNC relief efforts. All proceeds from “Floating” will be donated to BeLoved Asheville.

It was only last year when Princess Goes – the band led by the charismatic showmanship and signature voice of vocalist, lyricist, musician and actor Michael C. Hall (Dexter, Six Feet Under, Lazarus) alongside keyboardist Matt Katz-Bohen (Blondie, Cyndi Lauper) and drummer Peter Yanowitz (The Wallf...

In song and in conversation, Flores makes no secret that his utmost motivation lies not in massive sold-out shows, but in helping listeners through hard times. In releasing songs such as “Please Don’t Go,” Flores has also had to navigate the emotional weight of realizing that while his songs can be a balm and healing agent for some, music can’t always be a life-saving force.

Wyatt Flores tells Billboard about creating his debut album, adjusting to his fast-paced career rise and finding balance in career success.

History

In 2003, Steve Wilmans left California and moved to the mountains of WNC to build his dream studio. He found the perfect place in an old church on the edge of downtown Asheville. The Church was upfitted into a state of the art recording studio while preserving as much of the original decor as possible. The antique wooden doors were split down the middle and soundproofed. The original wall panels were reclaimed and used around the newly built control room, designed by George Auspurger.

In 2006, Steve purchased the neighboring building, which originally housed the Asheville Salvation Army, and built the API Studio. The tracking space is split between two levels, with the control and isolation rooms on the lower level and a large tracking room on the middle floor.
