Producer Zak Kilberg launched Social Construct, LLC in 2010, in order to seek out the most artistically original, yet commercially viable projects in the world. Over the past
several years, Kilberg has been primarily focused on IP acquisition and development financing for a variety of new projects and ventures, including Convergent Media, LLC. Projects from Social Construct and their various joint ventures include: The Mauritanian, based on the New York Times Bestseller Guantanamo Diary, starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Jodie Foster, Shailene Woodley and Tahar Rahim, from Oscar-winning director Kevin MacDonald, distributed by STXFilms; the screen adaptation of upcoming Penguin Random House memoir The Other Dr. Gilmer with producer Jonathan King / Concordia Studio; the New York Times’ “Best Book of the Year” Say Her Name adaptation, with producer William Horberg and the Oscar-winning company Fabula Films; International Emmy-winning documentary Bellingcat:Truth In A Post-Truth World; and many others. Kilberg is also developing a slate of branded TV series projects with a variety of producing partners, including Tim Kring (Heroes), Bruce Cohen (Pushing Daisies), Escape Artists (Equalizer franchise), and Bad Robot (Westworld). Kilberg’s completed projects have been acquired by top studios and distributors worldwide, including Universal, Lionsgate, Entertainment One, HBO, Showtime, IFC, and more. Kilberg also produced the short film L TRAIN, from Executive Producer Alexander Payne, which was an official selection at Sundance, winning the “Women in Film” grant for director Anna Musso. In 2014 he joined top entertainment law firm SmithDehn, LLP as a consultant, to help build and oversee their new packaging, financing and sales division, as an additional service offering for their 300+ clients. Kilberg graduated Cum Laude in 2004 from University of Hartford’s Hartt School Conservatory, with a Bachelor’s degree in Theater Arts. A prolific writer since childhood, Iz Web was the Poet Laureate of her graduating class, and in 1995 she received a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature specializing in Fiction into Film, a minor in Filmmaking, and intensive studies in the disciplines of Art, Philosophy, Comparative Religions and Mythology. She wrote, produced, and directed several independent films, and also worked in various aspects of both production and distribution, before moving away from the film industry to pursue a career as a multimedia artist and circus performer. A prolific writer, she has written a book, interactive story-based games, short stories and poems, screenplays, and scripts for the stage. In 2013, she joined Social Construct to lead a collaborative writer’s group, and is now a partner, serving as the Head of Development.
