The city of Armstrong is requesting that residents report water damage by calling the City Hall at 712-868-3535 between the hours of 8 am and 4 pm Monday through Friday. Please be prepared to provide your name, address, and brief description of what was damaged when calling.

Disaster affected homeowners, renters and businesses can now apply for the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) Individual Assistance Program by calling 1-800-621-3362 between 7 am and 10 pm, 7 days a week, or by registering online at www.disasterassistance.gov or on the FEMA app.

FEMA is encouraging all disaster affected individuals and businesses to register, regardless of income or insurance coverage. Be advised that FEMA will need pictures for damage assessment. Make sure to document all damages, keep original receipts, and file a claim with your insurance company, even if it is denied.

Emmet County Public Health has a Donation Center established, check with them if you are in need. Thank you

Emmet County Board of Supervisors have donated 20 clean up kits. First Come First Serve - 1 PER HOUSEHOLD. They are located in the hallway of the Armstrong Community Center.

Emmet County, City of Estherville and the City of Armstrong has set up sandbaggins station in two locations in the County. Please feel free to fill your own sandbags. All of the materials are there with some equipment. Please be respectful to the equipment.

Funeral Services for Ida Mae Erickson, 91, of Fairmont, MN, formerly of Armstrong, IA will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 28, 2024, at the Fairmont Evangelical Covenant Church. Burial will be held at Swea Township Cemetery in rural Swea City, IA. Visitation will be held 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont and will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Ida Mae was surrounded by peace and her family as she went to her eternal home on Saturday morning, June 8, 2024, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato, MN. The Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service is assisting the family with arrangements.
