Kicking off the semester with a full plate, AHS students are ready to take on the challenges ahead with the support of our dedicated counselors. Offering guidance through the college journey and beyond, Junior Counselor Ms. Gina Zavala shares her advice for this month:

"Things might not always go the way you want them to, but keep moving forward. Don’t give up—keep trying, and success will always follow down the road."

For seniors, she urges them to embrace the final months of high school and finish strong:

"Make sure to enjoy these last few months and end the year off strong. College decisions are coming out, and while they may not always align with your initial hopes, trust that you will end up where you’re meant to be. Stay positive and keep pushing forward!"

The Arcadia High School Library has selected Halfway There: A Graphic Memoir of Self-Discovery by Christine Mari as this month’s Book of the Month.

“This graphic novel is a dynamic and engaging way to explore the complex topic of identity. It is a new addition to our collection, and we hope students can use this book to reflect on themselves or gain a deeper understanding of their peers,” said Ms. Shannon Wills, Arcadia High School librarian.

Students are encouraged to visit the library to check out this insightful and thought-provoking read!

As of Jan. 18, TikTok's For You Page displays a notice of "ineligibility" under a new U.S. law. However, the platform has announced plans to begin restoring services to American users.

The ban follows the Supreme Court's decision on Friday to uphold bipartisan legislation signed by President Joe Biden in April. TikTok's notice reads: "A law banning TikTok has been enacted in the U.S. Unfortunately, that means you can't use TikTok for now." Meanwhile, President-elect Donald Trump has vowed to reinstate the app during his upcoming term.

"Successful athletes are confident,” said Coach Chen. “Most students struggle with fear. The fear of missing..fear of making a mistake…if you are confident in yourself, your abilities, you will be aggressive and take control of the match.”

With many of the starting lineup from the Girls Varsity Tennis team graduating this year, Coach Chen emphasizes for the athletes to “keep practicing and playing in the off season,” and he intends to “train our newer players up and prepare them for the next few years.”

Like many sports, Coach Chen reflects that the most crucial part of training is “consistency, consistency, consistency."
