Arcadia High School ASB presented Diversity Week from Mar. 4 to 8, a celebration aimed at fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation for the diverse cultures within the school community. As part of this exciting week, the French Club hosted a unique event in the Rally Court that combined two delightful experiences– cheese tasting and origami.

“We hosted this event for the students of Arcadia to have a taste of French culture,” said French Club member senior Amira Collins, adding, “This is only a bit of what we do in French Club, and we explore lots more about French culture [in the club].”

AI art negates all the time and effort artists put into their work,” shared freshman Allison Chen when asked why she believes AI art is unjust.

As Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become increasingly advanced, it has gained the ability to generate images and scenery based on a user’s request. While some people have utilized this for personal entertainment, others have used it to promote themselves and overshadow real artists, failing to recognize the dire consequences. It has sparked outrage from artists who produce creations of their own.

Every year, two staff members from Arcadia High School (AHS) attend a donation trip to the White Mountain Apaches. Dr. Michele Lew and Mr. Keith Kerney, both assistant principals here at AHS, were selected this year. It took them about 12 hours to reach their destination, which is just three hours outside of Globe, Arizona with AUSD’s amazing driver, Mr. Andrew Alvarez. The trip was for three days and two nights and was a very memorable experience for both Dr. Lew and Mr. Kerney.

In a nail-biting showdown on Jan. 16, Arcadia High School’s (AHS) Varsity Girls Water Polo team emerged victorious in a high-stakes match against Glendale High School (GHS). The game showcased exceptional teamwork, strategies, and a resilient spirit, ultimately leading to Arcadia’s triumph 15-13.

This game against Glendale was particularly crucial because “Glendale was undefeated as of that point in the league standings,” said Coach Janice Clark, Head Coach of the Girls Water Polo team.
