Communication and following their own rules and policies. My son, who was 10 and in the 4th grade at the time, was attending Harlow Elementary and had a poor lapse in judgment, mind you he was 10. My son has never been in trouble before, never been sent to the principles office, was on student council, but the one time he got into trouble, they wanted to send him to DAEP for 9 days. They had no hard evidence of said infraction he did, no camera footage and most of it was all hearsay from other kids of him doing this action. The other kids involved didn’t get the same punishment as him.
When we had a “meeting” with the principle, all she asked was if we had any new evidence to give to the issue. We throughly we were coming in to discuss what had happened and defend our child but she acted as if she already made her mind up. We had to take our son out of school for a month till things got worked out.
It seemed as if Abohosh was using this as a way to show her authority instead of following the rules in the student code of conduct.
As a result of this, our sons were requested to go to a different elementary school the next year
