Due to the extreme drought conditions and water demand exceeding 90% of the community's average daily water supply for three consecutive days, the City of Anna is entering into Stage 2 Water Restrictions on Monday, Aug. 1 to protect the public water supply* and ensure all Anna neighbors have access to adequate volumes of water for use inside the home. *This is a supply issue, not a water quality issue.

The restrictions are in accordance with the requirements identified in the City’s Water Resource and Emergency Management Plan, which was adopted by City Ordinance in 2019.

Restrictions:
• Mandatory reduction to 1x/week landscape watering with sprinklers and/or irrigation systems at each service address. The watering schedule shall be determined by street address.
• • • If your address is an odd numbered street addresses (address # ending in 1, 3, 5, 7, or 9) your water day is Tuesday
• • • If your address is an even numbered street addresses (address # ending in 0, 2, 4, 6, or 8 ) your water day is Thursday.

• Foundation watering within 2 feet of the building shall be allowed for up to two hours on any day by handheld hose, a dedicated drip-irrigation zone, or by soaker hose, provided no runoff occurs.

• Locations using alternative sources of water supply (well, re-use, rainwater harvesting) are not subject to day-of-the-week restrictions, provided the landowner places signage on the property indicating the use of an alternative water supply which is easily viewed and legible from the public right-of-way on the property.

This heat yall! It isn't getting an cooler anytime soon. ☀️🔥😓

We are joining other DFW cities in water conservation efforts by entering Stage 1 water restrictions. What does that mean?

• We ask all neighbors to reduce their irrigation watering to 1x/week voluntarily. Odd addresses should water on either Tuesday or Friday. Even addresses should water on either Wednesday or Saturday.
• We will enforce our existing watering requirement of no more than 2x/week, per our existing Ordinances.
• We will be participating by stopping all non-essential water use. We will cease vehicle washing and other non-essential watering and only irrigate the bare minimum amount required to keep public landscaping alive.
• We will be implementing a construction water use management plan with all new construction to reduce water use in construction.
• We are contacting all HOA’s to request for them to decrease watering to 1x/week voluntarily.
• We are asking all businesses to decrease their watering to 1x/week voluntarily.

Please join us by doing your part. We anticipate that we will need to move into Stage 2 water restrictions later this month if no rainfall occurs. This decision will be made with City Council approval.
