Flooding is occurring across parts of Southcentral in low-lying areas, as widespread rain remains with us. Expect another wet day across Southcentral, with storm totals near Seward likely topping out near 7"
Latest on Suicide Basin and Mendenhall River:
- Forecast to crest at 15' by the early morning hours of Tuesday.
- The forecast reflects a near 100% release, similar to the 2023 event.
- There is the potential for a partial release, however it is impossible to forecast how much water will drain from the basin.

After spending much of July on the cooler and wetter side, August is set to see the return to summer conditions. We will see parts of Southcentral warming near 70 later today.
For the 3rd year in a row, Anchorage will end the month of July as one of the top 10 wettest. Drier weather looks to arrive by midweek, as rain tapers off into Tuesday.
A mix of clouds and sun through Southcentral for Wednesday. This will likely be the warmest day in the next week with highs in the mid to upper 60s on the Kenai, upper 70s in the Susitna Valley and the low 70s in Anchorage.
Most of Southcentral starting the day off with clouds, even a few showers, but should see some sunshine by the afternoon and evening. Temperatures near Talkeetna could warm to near 79 degrees with Anchorage likely to see a high near 68. Clouds move in later this week with rain likely by Friday.
After a weekend with sunshine and warm temperatures, expect increased clouds for Monday. Highs stay on the mild-side with Anchorage expected to reach 70 degrees and expect temps in the low 70s for the Matanuska Valley. A mix of sun and clouds for the start of the week. A chance of rain on Friday.

As expected, the sunshine has moved in and is likely to stick around through the weekend. Some clouds could persist around the north gulf coast and eastern Kenai Peninsula due to an area of low pressure in the Gulf of Alaska but overall, mostly clear skies across Southcentral for the next few days.
A few rain showers linger for Thursday but look for decreasing clouds overnight and mostly sunny skies to head into the weekend. Temperatures warm up to the upper 60s and low 70s.
Mostly cloudy skies across most of Southcentral today. Rain showers likely tonight and into Thursday but expect to see some clearing and warmer temperatures by the weekend.
Widespread rain showers across Southcentral to start off our Tuesday but look for some of those showers to break up by the early afternoon for Anchorage, the Kenai and the Valley. Showers return on Thursday before we see a chance of sunshine and warmer temperatures through the weekend.
Cloud cover but a little less rain on Monday across Southcentral. That doesn't last long. Rain picks up again Monday evening and sticks around for several days. If you're looking for sunshine and warmer temperatures, there's a chance by the end of the week.
Very wet conditions look to return to Southcentral through the weekend. While most of today will be on the drier side, rain will begin to build into the Kenai through the afternoon hours. It's very possible that Anchorage could see up to an inch fo rain by Sunday.
Like it or not, the overall weather pattern continues to favor cooler and cloudier conditions. While some rain can be expected through the week, the better chance for coverage arrives into the weekend.

Temperatures this week will be nearly 10 degrees cooler, than our warmth we saw this last weekend. While showers will only be isolated in coverage, any rain will help our high fire danger.
