Just another day at the office.
Spent a lot of March working (*cough* playing *cough*) out of the office in the beautiful Alaska weather! Now that it’s snowing in April, we’re happy to be at our desks again.
Just a lil drive up the Dalton Highway. What an incredible week!
Great film from our good friend, Paul Andrew Lawrence | GlacierFilm, LLC.

We’re so stoked for what this year has to bring, we could jump for joy!! 😆 We’ve been so busy we didn’t get around to taking a holiday picture for 2023 until earlier this month. But I think it was worth the wait because this is our best team photo yet!

Why is the Alaskan Music Census important? Because we can't improve the music scene in our state until we know what needs improvement! There's only 3 days left to fill it out!

Music video shoot with last weekend! They were the opposite of Primadonnas 😉 Thanks for giving us the opportunity to play around on our new infinity wall!
Did you hear? We have an infinity wall in our studio? It was a PROCESS getting it installed, and we're so excited it's finally up and running!
We tore down the walls from the office space that was here before us, then installed curved panels to smooth out the corners. The panels are angled so that, when lit correctly, you can't see the corners at all. It's a little disorienting, frankly. Our drywall guy then worked some serious magic to get the wall perfectly smooth. Once that was done, it was time to paint, paint, paint! We hung the lights, painted the floor, et voila!
Come check it out!

Had an amazing weekend in Juneau putting on this show with Amplify Alaska to benefit Áak’w Rock. The only Indigenous music festival in United States.
We raised over $5k!
Thank you to all involved! It would not have happened without YOU.
If you missed the show you can still watch it in Amplyfy Alaska’s YouTube page and you can still donate at www.givebutter.com/aakwrock
Livestreamed multi-artist gig raises more than $5K for Indigenous music festival

Aaand we’re off to Juneau for the event tomorrow! ✈️At Frostline we love Alaska Airlines because we max out on the free checked bags with all our gear, every time.
We've been really busy all day today getting ready to go down to Juneau for a Fundraising Festival with Amplify Alaska. We'll be raising money for Áak'w Rock Festival, the United States' ONLY Indigenous music festival.
Financially supporting a music festival like this helps to amplify Indigenous voices, overcome the historical under-representation of Indigenous people in performance, and ensure fair pay for all contributors.
Come see it at The Crystal Saloon in Juneau! Can't come in person? That's the WHOLE reason Frostline is going! We're running the live-stream! Go to givebutter.com/aakwrock for more info.

So fun to work with old friends ( - scuba cinematographer extraordinaire) and even some new ones. It was BEYOND amazing to have Audra on our team, keeping us organized.
🐟
We are so fortunate to have been able to try for the first time—fresh out of the ocean! Now we know what all the hype is about!
🐟
See ya next time, !
Our own Derek Haukaas!!
Great stuff!
Thank you to the Go-fix-yourself podcast crew. Wonderful work!
We are beyond stoked and honored to welcome the one and only Derek Haukaas to the podcast today! This guy has been banging on drums since before we could even spell "rhythm" and he's now a super-talented audio engineer at Frostline Studios right here in Anchorage, Alaska.
We're taking it all the way back to the beginning (because that's how we “drum” roll) to find out how Derek fell in love with music, got into audio recording, and started a new project to support Indigenous representation in the music industry.
Dude is wearing so many hats - we try our best to get to all of them.

Feb 19, was the 75th anniversary of the Day of Remembrance, marking the authorization of Executive Order 9066 in 1942. The order set in motion a mass internment of Japanese Americans. The executive order was signed by President Franklin D. Roosevelt and justified in the name of national security. The order eventually led to the incarceration of more than 120,000 United States citizens in our own country. Here is a short clip from our film Ketchikan: A True Frontier.
