Day 2 on Capitol Hill, got to interview Alaska’s sole U.S. Representative Mary Peltola, explored the Rotunda in the Cannon Building (it’s the oldest congressional office building, completed in 1908) & fell in love with a few little houses nearby. Your Alaska Link TV Ventana Productions

An informative day at the Capitol. I got the chance to interview U.S. Senator Dan Sullivan for tonight’s show on Your Alaska Link TV. (I’ll post it on social media too.) Grateful to be working again with this talented cameraman, Mark Thalman. He’s an expert at good lighting & good sound. Then, I wrapped it all up with an editing session with talented editor Mark Skip Casale. (Mark, we’ve got to take a pic together!) Glad to be working with him again this year. This week I had a chance to sit down with Tyler. He survived a brown bear attack. It was fascinating to hear his story. His quick-thinking & experience, plus having a dedicated hunting partner who loves him fiercely (his dad💙)all helped him stay alive. And he is GRATEFUL. Peonies & Planes ✈️ I stopped by the Peony Pop-Up event at the Alaska Aviation Museum Friday. Gems all around! This museum is extremely well-done and leaving with an armful of beautiful flowers was an added bonus. I highly recommend both! Barnes Farms Peonies Alaska Aviation Museum

Anchorage friends, go see The Eyes of Freedom Memorial. It’s at the Alaska Airlines Center this weekend. It pays tribute to the 22 Marines and one Navy Corpsman of Lima Company who died while deployed in Iraq in 2005. One of the brave young men was Service High graduate Grant B. Fraser. Go learn about these remarkable men. This memorial is breathtaking and important. The Silent Battle sculpture…powerful…and visitors are encouraged to place their hands on it to share their energy of healing and love. Go! It’s free! Walk through the doors of the Alaska Airlines Center and take a left. The artist, Anita Miller, will be there Saturday & is happy to share her experience in creating it. I promise you won’t regret taking an hour of your weekend and seeing it for yourself.
