Good morning, ASD families,

We’re waking up to our first big snowfall of the season, and the Anchorage School District is open today.

Because of the snow, bus service for Girdwood K-8 is canceled. Buses in many other areas are running but may be delayed as drivers take it slow and safe this morning.

If your student can’t make it to school because of the weather, their absence will be excused.

We know mornings like this can be tricky. Thanks for your patience, and please be safe out there today.

Our shelves are running low on a few key items we use every day — peanut butter, jelly, lunch meat, and sliced cheese. These simple staples help us keep nutritious meals going out to local kids who need them most.

Bus service is cancelled for the following areas:

-Upper O’Malley Road
-Clarks Road
-Upper DeArmoun Road
-Birch Road
-Upper Rabbit Creek Road

Buses in surrounding areas also delayed.

If your student can’t get to school because of the conditions, their absence will be excused. Just call your school to check in.

Bus service for this afternoon is not cancelled.
