Good morning ASD Community,

All ASD schools and support facilities are closed today due to hazardous weather and icy road conditions. Side streets and upper elevations areas are not safe. Only emergency staff should report for duty, including all facilities and maintenance staff. Unless otherwise announced, schools will reopen tomorrow.

A decision about after school activities and Community Rental facilities will be made by noon.

🌟 We officially have 60 youth vendors signed up for the Entrepreneur Winter Expo! 🌟

I could not be more proud of these kids. Their creativity, courage, and drive remind me why this community is so special. They truly are the future — and they’re already out here building businesses, taking risks, and showing what’s possible when you give young people a platform.

Now we need YOU.
These kids have worked so hard, and showing up to shop means everything to them. Bring your friends, your family, your coworkers — let’s pack the building and support the next generation of Mat-Su entrepreneurs.

Good morning, ASD families,

We’re waking up to our first big snowfall of the season, and the Anchorage School District is open today.

Because of the snow, bus service for Girdwood K-8 is canceled. Buses in many other areas are running but may be delayed as drivers take it slow and safe this morning.

If your student can’t make it to school because of the weather, their absence will be excused.

We know mornings like this can be tricky. Thanks for your patience, and please be safe out there today.

Our shelves are running low on a few key items we use every day — peanut butter, jelly, lunch meat, and sliced cheese. These simple staples help us keep nutritious meals going out to local kids who need them most.
