From ASD:

Our transportation team will be conducting overnight road checks to make sure the roads are safe for school travel tomorrow.

We will notify you by 5:30 a.m. tomorrow if schools are closed due to unsafe conditions. If you don’t receive a notification from us tomorrow morning, schools are open and school buses are on their way to pick up students.

If schools are open, but you feel it is not safe to travel in your area of town, please contact your school's office for an excused absence.

School buses may be late as our drivers will be extra cautious on the roads.

This is a good time to review your ASD App account settings to make sure you are receiving the information in the manner you need.

Aurora Elementary will be closed today, Monday, December 15th, due to a power outage.

Update—12/14/25—9:30pm
All schools will be open tomorrow, Monday December 15th.

Our operations team will be monitoring the situation overnight. If anything changes, we will notify you.

Good evening ASD Community,

Due to extreme wind conditions, we have multiple schools without power across town.

We are actively in contact with utility providers and monitoring outages in Anchorage and surrounding areas.

The district will make a decision later tonight if any schools will be closed tomorrow due to known power outages.

Any additional closures due to loss of power will be updated and messaged out.
