The Biden administration said Monday it will hold the second lease sale for potential oil and gas exploration in Alaska's Arctic National Wildlife Refuge on Jan 9. The first lease sale generated scant bidding and no offers from major oil companies.

The sale will apply to 400,000 acres of the North Slope coastal plain. Both supporters and critics of drilling in the refuge have criticized the sale.

Police in Pennsylvania have arrested a 26-year-old with a gun “consistent with” the one used in the killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, New York City’s police commissioner says.

Along with the gun, police in Pennsylvania found a silencer, fake IDs and writings that appeared to be critical of the health insurance industry, according to a law enforcement official.
