Lately, we’ve posted mostly about upcoming releases recently on our FB page, but BHP Author/Writer Ray Franze just did a great podcast recently about his historical fiction novel The Heights we released about a year ago.

Ray and his family and ancestors lived and experienced the Chicago Heights region throughout the 20th century, and Ray scoured over 5,000 pages of FBI files when writing the book to ensure the book’s accuracy. Along with the research and awesome plot-line, the historical novel also loops in stories and legends and anecdotes passed down from his family’s past.

Incredibly interesting stuff if you’re an organized crime fanatic or love Al Capone or The Sopranos etc..

Its official, Clara will be signing at Burrowing Owl Books in Canyon on December 7th from 2-4pm during Christmas in Canyon on the square. This will start off her Texas author tour. We also have an interview lined up for her earlier in the week with High Plains Public Radio and some other local media outlets.

BHP's upcoming release Before We Turn to Dust by Clara Sneed is a dark and immersive retelling of real people and real events. And written by a real descendent of the infamous Sneed-Boyce family feud that took place in the early 20th century.

Hailed by Jodi Thomas as "A fresh new voice in literary fiction.", Clara Sneed is also the writer of a nonfiction account of the feud originally published in the 1999 Panhandle Plains Historical Review, through the Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum.

One of our authors Sean Hagerty is an amazing US patriot who constantly does really cool things like jumping out of planes and getting on major navy ships. Sean was in special ops for over 20 years and is now a senior advisor at the DoD. He is an amazing guy and I encourage everyone to read the first book in his three part series Jones Point. And yes, it had to be vetted by the DoD as well.

It’s a story about a missing girl and a retired special ops veteran taking matters into their own hands. Nothing political. Just written from the heart and awesome and tactical.

There’s two versions out there but this is the updated one!
