What's Next? 2025 - A Year of Freedom

As promised, I will be doing more Bible teaching, and bringing in some Bible Study tools as well. However, the Lord told me that this is a year of Freedom. In this podcast, you will hear the story of how God gave me that to focus on. This is an introductory video, sharing how the Lord spoke to me on this topic and my heart behind it. Enjoy!

Can you imagine?

Luke 2
8 That night there were shepherds staying in the fields nearby, guarding their flocks of sheep.
9 Suddenly, an angel of the Lord appeared among them, and the radiance of the Lord’s glory surrounded them. They were terrified,
10 but the angel reassured them. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people.
11 The Savior—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David!
12 And you will recognize him by this sign: You will find a baby wrapped snugly in strips of cloth, lying in a manger.”
13 Suddenly, the angel was joined by a vast host of others—the armies of heaven—praising God and saying,
14 “Glory to God in highest heaven,
and peace on earth to those with whom God is pleased.”
15 When the angels had returned to heaven, the shepherds said to each other, “Let’s go to Bethlehem! Let’s see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”
16 They hurried to the village and found Mary and Joseph. And there was the baby, lying in the manger.
17 After seeing him, the shepherds told everyone what had happened and what the angel had said to them about this child.
18 All who heard the shepherds’ story were astonished,
19 but Mary kept all these things in her heart and thought about them often.
20 The shepherds went back to their flocks, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen. It was just as the angel had told them.

Information and Revelation
Back to Dutch Sheets book "Intercessory Prayer" and I was only able to read one paragraph in that section this morning. I got stuck there.

This struck me because I love information. I love reading and studying, especially the bible and Christian books. I love teaching and sharing what God gives me, but I often don't think about the difference between the two. Revelation comes when God downloads as you meditate on His word. Information just goes into your mind.

He reminds us that there is power that comes through revelation. I get revelation through the word most often. But I also get it from conversations, prayer, hearing someone preach or teach, and also, just sitting still when He speaks.

Never discount a revelation no matter how "small" it may be. The ones I thought were so 'tiny' or maybe less important are the ones that rock our world the most.

This morning, I had a revelation that seems minor, but I know it is huge.

I'm reading in Mark 16, extended ending, and in verse 18, Jesus tells the people as he sends them out that these signs will follow those who believe.

"They will be able to handle snakes with safety, and if they drink anything poisonous, it won’t hurt them. They will be able to place their hands on the sick, and they will be healed.”

While reading this, I remembered the story of Paul on the island of Maltos.

Acts 28
3 As Paul gathered an armful of sticks and was laying them on the fire, a poisonous snake, driven out by the heat, bit him on the hand.
4 The people of the island saw it hanging from his hand and said to each other, “A murderer, no doubt! Though he escaped the sea, justice will not permit him to live.”
5 But Paul shook off the snake into the fire and was unharmed.

Paul wasn't with Jesus when this was said. He didn't come onto the scene until later. But Jesus was telling them this would happen. Jesus prophecied it.

But there are people who 'handle snakes' based on what Jesus said. Taking it totally out of context.

All Jesus was saying is that while we are doing the work of sharing the gospel there is a supernatural protection. It is so true. God protects us in the midst of our call, but we can't be foolish and pick up snakes. That's a really big deal. So why are we so scared?

It's not necessarily snakes, but it's when we are bitten by anything bad, literally or figuratively. Whatever attacks us won't harm us unless we let it. Paul shook it off, maybe we should too.

Revelation versus information. It's a thing that carries power. Never forget it.

After last week's podcast on 'There ain't no hurt, like church hurt,' I had to follow it up with how to forgive. We are commanded to forgive others to the same degree Jesus has forgiven us!

I don't know about you, but I fall short most of the time. In Matthew, Jesus shares a parable with his disciples after Peter asks about forgiveness. The consequences of unforgiveness are harsh, but the benefits are eternal. I pray this helps you if you are dealing with unforgiveness.

I've read and taught this book many times. I decided to re-read it and I'm so glad I did. Today, decrees and declarations have become a thing, but there is nothing like real intercession.

Dutch Sheets says "To whatever degree Satan can distract us from our relationship with Christ, to that degree we are walking in deception, regardless of how much other revelation we may be walking in."

I know so many people in the body of Christ who are walking in deception and don't even know it.

You don't know what you don't know until you realize you don't know it. People don't know they are in deception because somewhere in their lives they believe a lie.

It could be an old belief system, a new doctrine, or something they never questioned. God has shown me so many lies I've believed this year and I've had to repent. I even did a couple of podcasts on it.

Pray every day for God to show you what lies you may believe. And when He shows you ask Him to reveal how they have impacted your life. You will probably be shocked. Then just repent and pray for His mercy and grace.

As you go into the new afterwards, just purpose a deeper relationship with Him daily.

Have a great Monday.

If Paul saw the church today, some of ya'll would be getting a letter. Recently the Holy Spirit convicted me to write some letters, sort of like the Epistles in the New Testament.

In this podcast, I'm sharing exactly what the Lord told me to say to the dead, complacent church. It sounds a bit harsh, but there is always hope.
