“What opportunities do you see in the Church for media to make a big impact?”
For Rob, the answer is simple: beauty matters.

Just as great cathedrals have inspired people for centuries, beautiful films and media can move hearts, spark curiosity, and point people toward something greater.

Too often, media is treated as an extra. But stories have always shaped culture.

The world understands that. The Church should too.

Rob recently joined the Breaking the Barrier podcast from SENT Ventures to talk about creativity, leadership, entrepreneurship, and why great storytelling remains one of the Church’s greatest opportunities.

On a recent interview on The Catholic Channel’s The Doug Tooke Show, Rob shared the project that made filmmaking feel less like a hobby and more like a vocation.

“There was a priest in Chicago, and he would go outside abortion clinics and share this letter of an unwritten baby with mothers who were considering going in for an abortion. He had a lot of success with it, and he said, ‘What would be even better is if there was a film I could show them.’
We got connected and started making that film. At the end of the day, it was around 10 minutes long, but I put so much of my heart into it because I felt like this was more than just making videos to get a message out.
I knew that if this was done right, it could save a life.
When you’re doing something and you know it could be a life-or-death situation, you approach it differently. For me, that was really the opportunity to take this very seriously.”

Rob Kaczmark once slept under his office desk just so he could volunteer for a Catholic radio show.

Then he got kicked off the air over a house music remix.

Most people would have stopped there.

Instead, that rejection became the beginning of Spirit Juice Studios — a media company that has now generated more than 1 billion views.

In this episode of Breaking the Barrier, Rob shares lessons on:

-Leadership under pressure
-AI and the future of media
-Why taste still matters more than technology
-Sacrificing as a leader to protect your team
-Protecting your family life while building something ambitious

One habit from the conversation really stood out:

Before walking into his house each night, Rob swaps his watch.

One watch represents work.
The other represents family.

A small act that reminds him to be fully present where he is needed most.

This is one of those conversations founders and leaders will feel long after the episode ends.

Post-Production is the third and final stage.

Post is when your video gets edited, color graded, has music added, and sound design takes place.
And this is also where time sneaks up on budgets.

Every additional cut, every extra version, every "one last change" can really add up.
Post-production costs grow fast if expectations aren't clear all the way upfront, during that important pre-production phase.

Production is the part that everyone pictures: cameras, lights, crew, locations.

This is when we're filming with crew, bringing out all the equipment, bringing in the talent, and traveling.

Costs here depend on shoot length and crew size, travel, permits, catering, fuel, parking, and yes, a bit of it is based on gear, but production is just ex*****on.

If the plan is bad, more cameras or better cameras won't save it.

The first part of any video production is the pre-production.
This is where the magic actually starts: concepting, scripting, creative planning, logistics, scheduling.

When pre-production is done well, the entire project becomes smoother, and oftentimes cheaper as well.

So what affects costs here? Strategy time is a big part, revisions, and number of filming locations.

If you skip this pre-production phase, you'll pay for it later...literally.

Each day this week we're breaking down the process of video production and how the costs can add up. Comment "breakdown" and we'll send you the full of the costs associated with video production and how to budget smarter for your next project.

Real talk for a second. Understandably, one of the first questions we get every single week is: how much does a professional video actually cost?

If you’ve ever asked that question, you’ve probably heard what’s potentially the most frustrating answer of all time, “It depends.”

So, we’re pulling back the curtain. No fluff, no vague agency speak, no hiding behind gear lists. We’re sharing what video production really costs, why it costs that much, and how to make sure your money actually does something when you hit publish.

Check in each day this week as we breakdown the process of video production and how the costs add up.
