My oldest daughter wanted a new bike during the mid 2000's and then was a rough time for our family due to rising costs and a full time design and management job working for a friend that was barely paying our bills. I asked Kaya, do you want a new bike or can we start a customization project with your still working current bike. She chose the custom idea but she was now out of the princess things but was into the Pirate ways... I'm so thankful for that, and here's what happened to the barbie bike. I was shocked to see how many comments she'd get everytime, usually everyday after school on our bike adventures.
