Instagram is stressing me out… and I do it for a living!

There’s been a boost in “education” telling us to pretty much trash everything we’ve been doing and start over.

They’re click-baiting us with” “use THIS trending audio”, “hide hashtags and keywords in Reels”, & a lot of other NONSENSE!

And let’s not talk about those VAGUE AF Reels that send you to the caption without providing any value first 🙄

❌I’m over it! ❌

The fundamentals of Instagram continue to be the same: ✅Engage with your audience, ✅Create valuable content, & ✅Be consistent!

Will things continue to shift & evolve? Absolutely, because we as humans are constantly shifting & evolving!

However, the most important thing YOU have to do is know your ideal client well. Create content they need to make an informed decision ⤵️

✨Show BTS of your work
✨Share your thought process, what makes you special, & the value you bring to them
✨Provide tips or education around questions they already have
✨Get vulnerable & show your face
✨Connect with them

No matter if you post Reels, Carousels, or Stories - if done right, you will see the growth in your IG community & in your bank account 🤪

Time to open up and share a journey that pushed me to my limits...

At the beginning of the year, my business was so slow, that I was faced with a tough decision:

😰 Consider quitting the business and searching for a job.
😰 Balance a job while keeping my business afloat.

Now, I'm not a quitter (even though I'll admit, quitting did cross my mind a few times!). So, I took on a part-time job, which later turned into a full-time commitment, and then back to part-time.

During those 5 months, I allowed my mind to take a break from the constant grind of my business. Both my brain and my body needed that separation and rest.

Guess what happened? I rediscovered my WHY, uncovered skills I never knew I had, felt a renewed sense of inspiration to show up, and identified numerous blind spots that had been holding back my business growth.

Admittedly, it was a challenging journey, and my time at that job was far from enjoyable. But you know what? It brought me to where I stand today.

Challenges and roadblocks are part of life, but it's your perspective on those moments that truly defines your path! 💕

The Short vs Long Caption Dilemma

Let's talk about it!

My honest answer to "Should I be posting short or long captions?" is "It Depends".

I know it's annoying to hear but it's the truth🤷‍♀️

The only foolproof way to determine the ideal caption length for your audience is through testing.

However, I have a few things I would keep in mind when writing your captions.

1️⃣ In general, shorter & concise captions perform best for most audiences as people have short attention spams

2️⃣ Create captions that align with your core values, brand voice & tone. This way no matter the length, you should still see good results.

3️⃣ If you worry your caption is too long, try creating a carousel instead!

During the past 2.5 years in business I have grown, transformed, & evolved into an almost completely human being.

One of the things I love the MOST about this transformation has been fully stepping into who I am.

At first I was afraid of rejection, being made fun of, & looking stupid. (I'm still working through this)

But the more I lean into who I truly am the more:

✨ Genuine & long lasting connections I build
✨ Ideal clients I attract
✨ Ideal opportunities fall into my lap
✨ I feel happier & fulfilled

Life is not worth living if you can't be authentically you.

As I was going through the rebranding process I realized what my WHY is....

My purpose on Instagram is to help other business owners build communities that make them feel seen, heard, understood, & accepted. Why?

Because when I was growing up I never felt like I fit in. My grandma was one of the few people in my life who I consistently felt unconditional love, & support from.

No matter what I did or said, I was perfect in her eyes.

When I went to college, I found a group of people who I fit in with BUT then I moved to the United States.

As an extroverted person I never worried about making friends here but the Universe had other plans for me 😂

I had a very hard time making friends until I launched my business in Sept 2020.

INSTAGRAM has been the place where I have built a community of likeminded individuals that make me feel seen, heard, understood, and accepted every single day.

95% of my real life friends are people I meant through Instagram and it has changed my life for the better. But also, I've grown my business ENTIRELY ON INSTAGRAM

I want YOU to be able to do the same friend and the more exciting part is, without community you won't see true results on Instagram.

Did you notice something about my new logo?

While unconventional, it was carefully crafted with a purpose that I would love to share with you!

My logo is my grandma's handwriting of my name 💕

She passed away in May of 2022 and to be very honest, a part of me died with her. She was the most important person in my life and I strive to make her proud every day.

Growing up I always noticed she had beautiful & unique penmanship and before she passed I asked for her permission to use her handwriting one day and share it with the world. (she said yes, of course 😍)

Thank you for making my dream come true

New logo, new branding, new handle, new chapter 💕

Why did I rebrand?

In a way, it encompasses the transformations I've gone through recently (both personally and professionally) 🦋

SMS Media isn't going anywhere but it has evolved into much more & the impact I want to make in my community is way more clear now!

I no longer want to hide under a business name & am comfortable stepping into who I truly am, unapologetically - an unconventional Instagram Expert!

But I also I wanted a brand that represents what I stand for:

💕 Community > Everything
💕 Being authentically you & allowing others to be as well
💕 Being BOLD > Blending in
💕 Sustainability, fun, & simplicity
