Must be all that time in chimneys that makes Santa a good firefighter! ;)

A Delaware County firefighter dressed as Santa helped battle a house fire on Friday night.

He was attending a Christmas event when flames broke out around 6:45 p.m. on the 1000 block of McClenachan Terrace in Marcus Hook.

The fire went to a second alarm before it was brought under control at 7:30 p.m.

Authorities say no one was injured.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Congratulations to this week's School Staff Shout Out WINNER - Kris Wagner from Parkers Prairie Elementary School!

Kris is more than deserving to be recognized for the staff shout out! Long story short, my son has struggled with school since the very beginning and all of the way up to 5th grade. Mrs. Wagner was his 5th grade teacher, and she is/was amazing. She went above and beyond to get to the root of the problem and got him the proper help that he needed. He is now in 6th grade and he is thriving. This year has been his best school year ever. It took a lot of work, but she got him to where he needed to be. You can tell that she truly cares and wants every student succeed. She makes each student feel welcome and loved. Even though he no longer has her as a teacher, she still checks in on him from time-to-time. She truly has been a god send for not only our son, but for us parents as well. All it comes down to is that she loves hard and cares for her students (and families.) I will never be able to express how grateful that we are for her. She is one of a kind. 🩷 Parkers Prairie ISD #547
