As we gear up to reveal the top vote-getters in our 2024 “Best Of The City” awards this December, we’ve become aware of imposters trying to deceive individuals and businesses in Albuquerque by falsely claiming to represent Albuquerque The Magazine in relation to the awards.

These scammers are sending texts, claiming recipients are “top finalists” who might be featured in the magazine, along with promises of a $1,000 cash prize. If you receive such a message, please do not respond—it’s a scam.

Rest assured, in the coming weeks, legitimate members of the Albuquerque The Magazine team will be personally contacting and congratulating everyone who made it into the Top 5 for one of our 326 “Best Of The City” categories. We’ll only be reaching out via verifiable methods: a genuine .com email address or a direct phone call, just as we’ve done for the past two decades. (Yes, it’s the 20th anniversary of our “Best Of The City” awards, which we’ll celebrate with a grand event at RevelABQ on Dec. 7—we hope to see you there!)

If you suspect you’ve been contacted by a scammer, please reach out to Gena or Larryl at 505-842-1110 and let us know so that we can pass your info along to the investigators.
