1 year ago I took on a project as a volunteer that changed my life. I made friends that are so special and important to me and I gained knowledge that I always wanted. On this weekend, we were all supposed to be celebrating the 5th annual DTLA Proud Festival in Pershing Square. While we cannot be together in person to celebrate 5 years of unity, community, and diversity in Downtown Los Angeles, our team has been working hard behind the scenes on a very special project for our community. We are officially announcing: PROUD IN THE PANDEMIC, a documentary by the community, for the community - premiering online Fall 2020. 🎥🎞🌆👤🏳️‍🌈

Staying true to our mission of celebrating everyone’s story, spreading optimism, growing our community, and expanding our definition of diversity, PROUD IN THE PANDEMIC is meant to be a time capsule that will capture this moment of survival, resiliency, and innovation in our community in a time when we ask ourselves how we can continue to stay proud and what the idea of LGBTQ+ pride means to us in these challenging and uncertain times brought on by a pandemic and civil unrest. Through a series of interviews and personal stories shared through the eyes of members of our community, the film will chronicle where we have come from, where we are, and where we see ourselves going as one united community.

Dropped a new track on SoundCloud ⚡️⚡️⚡️ I had originally wrote this song around 2 years ago and it’s been going through changes ever since. I wrote the track based on my feelings towards conversion therapy and people who think it is their job to assist someone in changing their sexual orientation from gay to straight. I wonder if they also think the same methods used would also be able to convert someone from straight to gay? And if so, what the similarities between being subjected to the same psychological, physical, or spiritual interventions might be for straight identifying people. Guess we will never know since there are absolutely no organizations, no groups and no money behind the latter.

Another year around the sun, but this ones different. A huge thank you to all my friends who wished me Happy Birthday yesterday. It lifted me up so much, but there are still things going on in the world that need continuous attention. I’ve chosen to make a donation to today. They are an organization that focuses on the underlying factors that affect the quality of life for people of color. Specifically I’ve chosen to give to the black trans protesters emergency fund. We need to continue these protests and not let this movement slip through the cracks like we’ve let it before. I stand with Black Lives Matter, and if you can, please make a donation also!
