I never expected my life to change that day.

Raising five kids alone has been tough since Mark passed away from a heart attack two years ago. The night I got the call is etched in my mind; the paramedics tried everything, but he was gone, leaving me with our children and a house full of memories.

I FOUND THE SWEATER KNITTED FOR MY GRANDCHILD IN A DONATION DRIVE

When I was 10, my parents left me with my grandparents to focus on my younger sister’s athletic career. They claimed it was temporary, but they never came back. Eventually, my uncle and aunt, who couldn’t have children, took me in and raised me as their own.

I RETURNED EARLY FROM A TRIP AND FOUND A LITTLE BOY IN MY LIVING ROOM — "I LIVE HERE," HE SAID.

So, I was exhausted from a long trip back from my hometown. I'd been staying with my parents for about three weeks with my kids while my husband was home alone. We decided to come back two weeks early because the kids missed their dad and friends so much. We thought it would be a fun surprise for my husband, so we didn't tell him we were coming back early.

But when we walked in, I saw several pairs of shoes that didn't belong to anyone in our family. Even more interesting, there were some kids' shoes too. I heard the TV on in the living room, so I quietly walked in, and saw a little boy sitting on the floor watching TV.

I went up to him and asked what he was doing there and where his parents were. He said, "I live here, and my parents are in the bedroom." WHAT??? I WAS SPEECHLESS! I turned around and QUIETLY headed to our bedroom. ⬇️

My mom passed away when I was a kid, and my dad remarried Kelly. From the beginning, Kelly never liked me. She constantly competed with me for my dad's attention. I SECRETLY SCANNED A BARCODE SOMEBODY STUCK ON MY HUSBAND'S BACK.

For months, Daniel had been acting so distant—late nights, constant business trips, barely acknowledging me. We'd just found out we were expecting, and I was desperate to feel close to him. But he was slipping away.
