The SSL Listen mic compressor. Known for its unbelievable heavy compression. It has been used on many hit songs. It was discovered on accident when Hugh Padgham was using the listen mic “reverse talkback” feature on his then brand new SSL console while recording drums for Phil Collins - In the air tonight. The SSL Origin at Folklore Recording Studio has that very circuit built in and ready to use at a moment’s notice.
