HIGH HEAT: The National Weather Service has issued heat advisories for our area from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. for today and tomorrow. (Tuesday, Wednesday)

High temperatures for both days are expected to reach the mid 90s, but heat index values could reach up to 107!

The NWS says to drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances.

ALSO, due to the high temps, Marshall-DeKalb Electric Cooperative said the TVA has issued a "Conservative Alert," asking people to REDUCE electric consumption by turning off any unnecessary lights and use major appliances such as ovens, washing machines, washers and dryers early in the morning or later in the evening.

Stay cool out there!
