The Stanly County Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that North Carolina Secretary of Commerce, Lee Lilley, will be the Keynote Speaker for the 2025 Annual Meeting & Awards. The Annual Meeting will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2025 in the Magnolia Room at Atrium Health Stanly.

Lee Lilley's service as North Carolina's Secretary of Commerce began on January 1, 2025. Appointed to the office by Governor Josh Stein, Secretary Lilley brings extensive economic development experience to the role.

Immediately before joining the department, Secretary Lilley served as the Director of Economic & Pandemic Recovery for Governor Roy Cooper. In that position, he coordinated statewide pandemic recovery efforts, served as State Infrastructure Coordinator, and led economic development initiatives for the Cooper Administration. Lee also advised Cooper Administration leadership on strategy and communications.

🚨Weather Update for Thursday Jan 23🚨

Due to freezing temperatures, road conditions on secondary roads are not anticipated to improve. On Thursday, January 23, 2025, SCS will implement a remote learning day for students. Your child’s school will provide further information regarding remote learning expectations. Please note that all sports and extracurricular activities are canceled through tomorrow, January 23.
Tomorrow will also be a remote workday for 10, 11, and 12-month certified staff who have been assigned to work remotely. The buildings will be open as an option for staff members who feel comfortable commuting and want to work in their building. All other staff are encouraged to utilize their designated leave options, and any exceptions must receive prior approval from your supervisor.
