It is just past midnight in Gaza, November 29th, 2024, and today is the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, and the first day of Read Palestine Week.

We are launching the week with a 24-hour global reading that begins in Palestine and will stream live over the course of the day and from multiple locations around the world.

Tune in here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RxJNpyXNDQQ

This international reading emphasizes the goal of Read Palestine Week 2024: to read publicly, and through literature, to extend and encourage the collective resistance to genocide into new and expanding spaces as the Palestine solidarity movement continues to grow.

We do this as just one of many undertakings to bring about an end to genocide and apartheid. Readings are meant to augment and educate, and not to replace the necessary pressure that people of the world are placing on their complicit governments. Keep up the pressure, and participate in the BDS movement!

Swipe for a list of some of the ebooks by Palestinian writers and about Palestine that are available for free throughout the week at publishersforpalestine.org, where you will also find a list of actions you can undertake to help to end the genocide, alongside a list of events—just a few of the hundreds that are being planned around the world as part of this global initiative.

It is a whole different experience to celebrate and champion our creators in person. We were so happy to see teachers interacting with and .parikh.author at and getting their books signed. This was the most cherished moment from a weekend of great memories!

It was so heartening to finally meet my editors at , now . They were exhibiting at NCTE for the first time. We hung out outside the conference too, along with the author of Dancing Devi, .parikh.author.

I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to sign Dancing in Thatha’s Footsteps for teachers who expressed their eagerness to share more South Asian content in their classrooms.

Do check out and their beautiful books which will make great holiday gifts.🎁🎊📚

Our Erasing the Margins summer internship program is now accepting applications for BIPOC book-lovers, 18+ years of age.

Our ETM program is designed to disrupt the narrative that we don’t belong. We place interns of color with BIPOC mentors for a summer of learning, collaboration, and skill-building. We know that unpaid internships exclude Folks of Color disproportionately from gaining entry-level experiences, so our interns are paid for their work. Since independently owned and operated businesses are cornerstones of their neighborhoods, we partner exclusively with them when selecting our host sites. The list of mentor sites for the 2024 cohort is as follows:
