Area Friends: In about a week we will announce the first artists in the White Lake Studio Concert Series in partnership with TheSpot518.com . I am blown away by the artists we've been able to get commitments from. The shows will generally take place on the first Thursday of the month (with some exceptions). We seat a capacity of 40 with tickets priced at $40.00. We are now compiling a list of people who would like to be notified when tickets go on sale for a show. Read this please: Hey White Lake Studios friends 🙂 Back in the late 80s and early 90s I had relocated to the 518 and jumped into some terrific bands that were doing a lot of playing and recording. Whether it was Ted Hyland’s 8 track studio behind a store on Central Ave, or working with Art Snay at Arrobellum. One day Ted Hyland called me, had to be ‘91 and said “I’ve got a new kind of music booking the studio. It’s called rap. They need drum beats programmed. Can you do that???” And so it began. Within 6 months I was a go to beat producer here in town. Meanwhile I’m also doing my own thing ( I think I was drumming for Clay People at that point, and I was writing jingles for clients like Latham Circle Mall) Anyway one day we had two siblings from mid Hudson Valley region show up. They had a song and had saved enough money to record it. It was immediately clear they were next level talent and very unique. We recorded the song and… they nearly immediately signed a major record deal with then giant Polygram. If I recall they were whisked off to the UK for photos etc etc etc. Well 33 years later I posted about our Capital Region Thomas Edison Music Awards & Capital Records Live and this was a response that made me realize just how much I’ve been through. This guy is a first-class human being and I am so fortunate to have crossed paths at just the right time.

I’ll tell you what… 30 plus years. Thanks to my wife who was crazy enough to go along with this, we’ve had the opportunity to do incredible things in music and sound that have impacted radio charts, video games, tv, film, and more. I look forward to going to “work,” which in itself is a weird concept! The people I’m surrounded by impress and inspire me. Bad days are seldom, but they do happen. I support music, art, and above all, people. I recognize that not everyone’s path is without flaws. However I’ve learned to focus on the now. Music is a lot of fun. The business of music however is maddening at best. Always remember the fun. And when you’re making music, focus on the now.
