Prevention vs Preservation

Let us start with WE ARE SORRY to be human...sometimes. The human condition can causes errors in our life. As the editors of the HighPoints, monthly publication, there is a MAJOR typo on the front-page story, top fold. It says May is national history "prevention" month when it should have been said "preservation" month.

The Albany Visitors Association wrote the article correctly. We take full responsibility for the error. We will be posting this message on all of our pages on FaceBook (HighPoints, Points for Profit, Points for Profit Mid-Willamette Valley and InSpirit Marketing). We will also be putting a retraction of this error on page two of the June issue of HighPoints.

Although we take responsibility for the error, we want to be clear in letting our readers and supporters know that we in no way want to "prevent" the ongoing education of our past, our history. We believe we can learn so much good from the past and that will make us stronger and better in the future. We must preserve the rich history we hold dear as much as the history we aren't so proud of (as this is how we learn from our mistakes).

We thank you for reading HighPoints, the Good News for the Willamette Valley, and we hope you will continue to trust us to do our best for you. We ask for forgiveness and will move forward much more slowly so this does NOT happen again.

Our monthly Points for Profit meeting is canceled as the Legion is closed due to snow. We are working with the Legion to possibly reschedule next Tuesday and will send email out or call when we have confirmation. Everyone's safety is more important.
