Here are what some regional leaders said about joint and multilateral training exercises in 2024:
“This is the first time that we have had multinational teams with the ability to work side-by-side together and [it’s] a great opportunity for them to exchange their knowledge and talk to each other more and more.” - Lt. Col. Yutapong Sodcharoen from the Royal Thai Armed Forces Headquarters shared during Cobra Gold
"By joining bilateral and multilateral exercises such as Exercise RIMPAC (Rim of the Pacific) we get to meet our counterparts from every corner of the world and we get to share our knowledge and share best practices," said Royal Brunei Navy Lt. j.g. Majidah Zakaria during RIMPAC
“To build a strong and credible deterrent, the SAF [Singapore Armed Forces] must continue to evolve,” Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong said at the commissioning ceremony of the Republic of Singapore Navy’s (RSN) new Invincible-class submarines in September 2024. “Because we face a world of shifting dynamics and emerging threats — both traditional and unconventional.” 🇸🇬🚢

Officials estimate about 11,000 North Korean troops have moved into Russia’s Kursk region in October 2024, and there is growing consensus that at least some have been on the battlefield. They might eventually deploy 100,000 troops, Bloomberg News reported.
Russia reportedly is paying North Korea $2,000 a month for each deployed soldier, along with providing military technology that observers say could enhance North Korea’s illicit nuclear and missile programs.
Pyongyang, meanwhile, also has supplied Moscow with weapons including self-propelled howitzers and rocket launchers for its unprovoked war, the Firstpost website reported in late November. 🚀
