From a young age Emily has always loved taking pictures and videos! Emily started off as an active member of her high school Yearbook, Magazine, Newspaper, and Broadcast Journalism Staff.

In college, one of her first jobs was at JCPenney Portrait Studio and then Keller Williams as a photography, marketing, and listing assistant. Emily went on to pursue a degree in Marketing with a concentration in B2B Sales at the University of North Texas class of 2015.

After her first few jobs in the real world and freelancing for years, she saved up and decided to take the plunge to start HOM in January 2018.

We consider ourselves content creation EXPERTS, but we always leave room to learn something new. When creating your content strategy, avoid these SIX things to create the most effective content! ⬇️

❌ Skipping engagement may seem like a minor thing. When engagement is done strategically and effectively, you'll start to see HUGE results on your social pages!
❌ ONLY posting graphics is a surefire way to tank your engagement. Correctly formatted video content reigns supreme!
❌ Not using relevant hashtags. Hashtags are pretty controversial right now (depending on who you ask)... but just using among BILLIONS of videos gives your content an incredibly small opportunity to reach new eyes.
❌ Skipping trending audios. Say it with us now, TRENDING AUDIO IS YOUR BESTIE! Audio trends for a reason, take advantage of it!
❌ Not using strategic posting times. There’s a big difference between posting at 9AM vs 10PM, figure out which time works best for your target audience.
❌ Only using Canva templates. Hear us out first! Canva is a great tool, but cookie-cutter templates will drag your feed (and your creativity) down.

Ariel received her B.A. in multimedia journalism with a minor in psychology from the University of Texas at El Paso. She was born and raised in El Paso, Texas and recently moved to the DFW area. She previously interned at The Dallas Morning News and Texas Highways Magazine.

We are so excited to have her on the team at HOM as a creative assistant.

Fun Fact: Ariel loves to read, watch Gilmore Girls, and her favorite food is a plate of green chicken enchiladas.

Jasmine received her B.A. in broadcast journalism with a minor in criminal justice from the University of North Texas. She was born and raised in El Paso, Texas where she grew up playing volleyball and now coaches club volleyball. Jasmine started at HOM almost two years ago as a creative assistant, quickly later transitioned to a social media manager, and is now our team lead!

Fun Fact: Jasmine loves thrifting, reading and attending concerts. She is also a proud mom to her 5-year-old American Bulldog, Patch.

My Story

Photography has always been an interest of mine. From disposable cameras, to the first time I held a Nikon. I started taking photos for friends and family in 2007 and continued into studio photography and videography shortly after. Even though I love working with cameras, I chose to study Marketing and Professional Sales at The University of North Texas.
