The Downtown Burger Brawl is BACK!!!🤩🎉

🍔🔥 The Downtown Burger Brawl is BACK for Year 3 — presented by Optimum! 🔥🍔

Starting Thursday, January 15, seven downtown eateries will compete for the title of Downtown Abilene Burger Brawl Champion 2026! Locals and visitors are invited to taste the competition, collect stamps, and vote for the best burger in Downtown Abilene.

How to vote:
1. Pick up a stamp card beginning Wednesday, Jan. 14 at any participating location, the Chamber of Commerce, or the Convention & Visitors Bureau (1101 N. 1st St).
2. Try the burgers! Each featured burger earns one stamp. (You must try a minimum of two burgers to be eligible to vote.)
3. Turn in your completed card by Monday, Feb. 16 at 5 p.m.

📣 Winners will be announced on Downtown Abilene social media, so be sure to follow along — and stay tuned as we reveal the delicious burger creations each downtown participant has cooked up! 👀🍔

Congratulations to Daniel Cortinez! He has been selected as our next Black Plumbing Heating and Air - Abilene Teachers Federal Credit Union Star Student of the Month!🌟

He's a senior at Atems High School with a 4.0 GPA, is ranked 3rd in his class and will be attending Belmont University in Nashville, TN in the Fall, majoring in Music!

Daniel is a HUGE part of his school and also in his community!

With academics, he is currently involved with or has accomplished:
• Student Council
• AP Government
• AP Calculus
• AP Economics
• AP English Literature
• AP Music Theory
• AHS Orchestra
• President of Abilene High Orchestra
• Student Leader of Revolution

Daniel is very excited and proud to be a part of his community! Here's what he's doing:
• Teaches younger kids how to play the instrument and learn music
• Volunteers at the middle schools in Abilene, such as Clack Middle School and Madison Middle School to play music for the kids
• Volunteers at Willow Springs, University Place nursing homes, and First Baptist Church to play music for the elderly
• Plays for the Abilene Youth Orchestra in the Philharmonic
