It's been quiet on this page for a while. We moved, added a pet to our household (Belle, the black and white dog next to our chocolate lab, Cocoa), and things went dormant. But I am still here, thinking of all of you.

I hope that whenever you stop by, you feel so very lovely and loved.

I wrote this with the hose on my dusty lawn, after seeing the track below it that I made when I watered our baby apple trees.

Ride the waves.

My family has recently moved and there is grief mixed in with the joy. I was talking with my counselor the other day about some setbacks I was facing, and we compared it to the ocean.

Welcome to my new workshop in Spokane, WA!!

I will be traveling back and forth to the sea, but names will be written here in the sand once a week or so, once I get it set up. 🌊💙

I plan to leave the surroundings broken for a while, it seems to fit the oftentimes brokeness of what I do (writing names in the sand for people who grieve, although some are also celebrating, or maybe both.)

Today I went on a drive to explore a new area for writing Names by the Shore (there's no ocean near our new home in Spokane, WA, so I'm hoping for a lake beach.) Unfortunately, Liberty Lakes is closed for the summer. Time to cross this one off my list. It's still a beautiful place to hike though, especially if you're a fan of Lord of the Rings. 😁

Anyone else struggling lately with things that usually aren't quite so hard??

This week, I went to write Names by the Sea and my phone died after just 7 names (I usually do 20 or so.) So yesterday I went to my spot in the woods to do the rest as Names by a Tree. The sunlight was too dappled to get a good photo, then Cocoa laid down on my sand spot. I agreed that it wasn't a good time to do names and we went for a walk instead. Today is Try #3 at my beach spot in Hoquiam, WA, but I have to catch it at low tide or there is no sand. We'll see how it goes!
