Just me out and about today, sharing the need to have more visual flyers to raise awareness throughout our community and sharing the message on what perinatal mental health is and YOU are not alone!!!

The common theme I have heard in my 15 years in the field of social work is, “I didn’t know” “ nobody talked to me about all pieces of it, so I thought I was alone and I isolated even more.”
“If only I would have SEEN information about it when I finally braved leaving my home to the park and stores, I would have seen I’m not alone and seen the support available, I wouldn’t have SUFFERED alone and for so long.” “ I would have cried less in the bathroom stalls and dressing rooms.” “I would have known how to support my wife.”

I’m asking to join me in providing more visual information out there that could provide such a huge change in the impact of perinatal mental health in our families, right here in our very own Aberdeen community.

If you know of any businesses willing to post information in their bathrooms, dressing rooms, checkouts or wherever to help me share the message, “we care and you are not alone.” Would love your connections, support and/or more ideas.
For now I am an Army of 1 out here trying to make a difference because YOU MATTER!!!!!!!!

The City of Aberdeen has postponed the Wiley Park firework display scheduled for tonight due to weather. The display will now go off at approximately 10:15 p.m. Friday July 5th. Don't forget about special music programming to go along with the fireworks on 107.7 the Shark.
